Hi,
i noticed there have been a lot of new responses on this list. there are
a lot of great websites about tos. the best are the neurology webforums
at Massachussets General
http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=249 these forums
are searchable and were a great to me when i was first diagnosed in '98.
and this is another good one: http://www.tellmeabouttos.com/
i am a 30yo stay at home mom of two boys and am expecting a third child
in march. i have bilateral neurological tos with small extra ribs or
transverse processes. at this time i am not a surgical canidate, i may
pursue surgery after the children are grown. after i was diagnosed i
cut back working hours, found a balance in what i could do without
overdoing and causing flare ups and have tried several rounds of pt. i
had to cut back a lot to find so healing and i've been able to build back
up on some activities and limit others. i've have avoided meds, dont
want to mask the pain, but was and still am helped by lidocane
injections in a trigger point in my shoulder. i have tried chiro and
pt. would probably see better results if i worked harder at the pt
methods of peter edgelow(you'll find info about him on the forums). in
the future i want to look into feldenkrais, but not till after the baby
is born.
the best thing to do with this is to educate yourself about tos, your
body, your limits, triggers and all the options out there. tos is not the
same for any two people. also its a good thing to learn to accept the
changes tos brings to your life. i'm rather bad cause i will flare
myself up doing something i love to do, but i dont want to cause a flare
from doing housework. i'm learning to live with the mess.
hope this helps.

Catherine, hi-I have the same problems but all on my
right side. No one has ever said to me before that all
my right sided pain could be from my TOS! I also have
Fibromyalgia so everything gets attributed to that.
Can you tell me more about the TOS causing one sided
pain?
