Re: [Thoracic Outlet Syndrome] New Members

This is in regard to Liz, the auto insurance company is responsible for
the effects from the accident, however, getting them to do anything
over long term may be difficult. When I had a car accident 10 years
ago and developed osteoarthritis in both knees and now can barely walk
and have no cartilege in my kness, this is a result of the accident, I
was told they did not cover anything long term. If your employer
tries to fire you for disablity you will def have big law suit againts
them. they are not permitted to do that. under law they must find you
a job that you can even if it is work one hour and rest one hour. Your
MD is the one who will write the work the return to work policies. If
you cannot adhere to those call him ASAP and he will change them. Even
if you are not able to return to your occupation; you don't get fired.
You get the work comp route. With your case being the auto accident
that does not fall under work comp but they cannot fire you or you can
sue the hell oout of them and they know it. Don't quit either. Just
wait it out. Most of this has to do with what your MD says about your
condition. Its a long slow road but you are not alone. You can only
with this TOCS one day at a time and sometimes its an hour at time; but
you can do it. I know because I have done it for 7 years now and I
started this group for all of you.

Cathy
