Hi, I'm new to the group. Three weeks ago I started hurting in my left shoulder.
About 2 weeks after the pain started my arm started swelling, turning purplish,
and red streaks started appearing. Oh yes, and the pain, at times it felt like
my arm was just going to pop. I went to my Dr. He put me on Vioxx. Big doo doo.
I called him back, nothing, he told me to go and see my neurologist. Well, I
couldn't get an appt with her for weeks, so I changed my PCP, ( thank God I have
insurance that will let you do that) Went to see this DR that I knew was a
quack, but I knew that he would find out what was wrong with me, for he loves to
run every kind of test that your insurance will allow. He puts me in the
hospital to make sure that I didn't have blood clot. Lots of test, no blood
clot. But there was 2 specialist that I saw while I was there and they seem to
think I have TOC. So they let me out of ICU and sent me home with Vicodin ES 2
of them every 4 hours, Ibuebrofuen 800 mgs 2x a day, and predisone 4mg all day
long several times a day. Said I should go back and see the quack in a week.
Well, that was Sat. I am having very little swelling, some pain, but last night
my arm got BLUE, I could see the blood vessels popping, and the pain was
horrible. Now to my question... Should I wait for this medication to work like
the Dr said, give it a week? Should I go to one of the Dr's that said I had TOC?
Is this TOC? How serious is this stuff? Am I gong to loose my arm or something?
;)
Thanks so much for listening to me rant a rave.
