Hi,

I'm new here and looking for advice. I am going through the process
of diagnosis for TOS. I have problems in both arms, with the left
arm being worse.

I have problems using the phone because my arms and hands burn, and
tingle, and hurt so much. I have problems carrying a plate, a book,
and a lot of things.

My hands get numb, and I drop things, and they are pretty much
useless when this happens. This is usually the worst first thing in
the morning.

The reason they are checking me for TOS is the symptoms line up, and
my pulse disappeared in both arms during the Adson's manouver.

Things get a lot worse when I am doing things like cooking. The
rheumy thinks it might be a bit of both TOS and CTS(carpal tunnel).

I have nerve problems elsewhere in my legs as well, which would not
be related to problems in my arms. I am having nerve tests done on
both arms and legs. They are running a doppler test on the 20th of
March.

I think it may be arterial as well as my hands go white when hte
arms are in a certain position, and then go bright red as the blood
rushes back when I put them back down.

I have autoimmune problems as well, and I guess my question would be
if there are any known autoimmune causes that can cause TOS as well.

I was in a very bad car accident that could have caused these
problems, and I have problems with my ribs locking from time to
time, and it gets quite painful.
Randy

I do not know what could have caused your TOCS. Your M.D. should be able to pinpoint a cause. If it is not from repetitive work then it could have been from...

It's funny. I found out from my Mother tonight that my father has the same problem. That's why he doesn't like spending a lot of time talking on the phone,...

Did they check to see if you were born with an extra rib? That shows on x-ray. Your M.D. probably already did that. Some people are born with an extra rib ...
