Hi,
On Thursday I was too tired to stay up until 2:00 AM to hear Dr. Szasz
live, but I was able to hear the archived interview later. See:
http://www.worldtalkradio.com/archive.asp?aid=3971.
He was very strong, particularly in stressing personal responsibility.
I would sum his message up like this: Do your own thinking, don't
blindly trust professionals, and don't put yourself (or your child) in
a situation that gives psychiatry a chance to strike.
I'm sure a lot of people will consider his position harsh, but the
stark reality is that if we expect other people to protect our
interests, we will be sorely disappointed. They won't. So we had
better protect them ourselves, regardless of who is to blame for what.
It was very well worth the listen. I recommend it.
