An excellent article.
Socialist health care in the Netherlands makes my body everybody’s
business.
Moreover, because “health care” seems to justify all expenditures, every
sort of social difficulty is redefined as medical, including children
who have trouble keeping up (or down) in school, homelessness,
unemployment, family violence, and the list goes on and on.
As the “patient” is not to be burdened with paying bills, the “health
care provider” bills the insuring agency directly, with no one ever
doing any checking whether the services were actually rendered. The
system is fraught with stupendous levels of fraud.
The result is that the health treasury is empty. So more and more
treatments are being ousted from the public health care system and
channeled into private insurance. Back to where we began, except for the
freedom.
