There is nothing new about this. Such books have been being published
for years. You are right that Dr. Szasz was the first. He was also the
best and the most prolific. However, there have been many other critics
as well, Ivan Illich, for example. The drug companies are attracting a
lot of attention today because they have become so powerful. You can
find reviews of several books critical of the drug
companies/medicine/psychiatry here:
