As I said in my post I lost 23 pounds this past 8 days and have had
either special K ceral with skim milk,or oatmeal coffee, and small
orange juice for breakfast. At night before bedtime I eat another
bowl of Wheaties or Special K. I try also to work in apple in each
day. Being diabetic I have to have the fruit to keep up my blood
sugar levels. I almost have to force myself to finish my subs for
lunch and dinner. I feel better this week then I have for the past
year. Do what works for you. This is what works for me.

Hi everyone. I am so glad to find this group and get support from
other subway dieters. My wife and I started the subway diet 9 days
ago. I went and weighed at the hospital and discovered I have
already lost 23 pounds (Down to 405 from 423). I am faceing the
possibility of baratic surgery this fall and decided to give this a
chance and see if I can get my weight down without surgery. I have
been told either loose the weight or your life. No much of a choice
their.

So far the subdiet is very satisfying and effective. I am a diabetic
and have to be concerned with that. The problem this week is trying
to adjust my insulin down so I keep my blood sugars up.

My wife is on this with me and lost 15 lbs this past week.

Looking forward to talking to many of you.

Thank you for your input about the subs. I haven't really been
eating breakfast. When I have eaten it(2/5 days i've been on the
diet), I've had some low fat gram crackers, or a can of low fat
peaches. I should probably get to the store and buy some yogurt or
something.

If you don't like the veggie subs don't eat them. You can have a
regular sub at dinner time. Jared did the veggie sub for dinner but
most people I know on this diet just stick with any of the sandwiches
under 6 grams of fat. I like to eat frozen greenbeans (cooked) with
my subs at dinner time. For every cup you eat it is only 20 calories
and no fat grams. Also if you are tired of subs and need a break
Lean Cusine make some awesome meals and they are pretty low cal and
fat but you have to watch the sodium in them.

I have no problem eating the veggies with the meat also on the sub.
Its just the pure veggies that I cannot stand for some strange
reason. Would a 12 inch turkey be too much for dinner?

Hello, I've been on the subway diet for 4 days now. I've been eating
a 6 inch sub and chips for lunch and the veggie sub for dinner.
Today was the first day I could not handle the veggie sub. It was
just too gross for me (i'm not a fan of veggies to begin with).
Anyway, I was wondering what a good replacement would be? I have a
lot of weight to lose (150 lbs). I was thinking of just doing
another 6 inch for dinner with no chips, or maybe some kind of salad.
I've been having the honey mustard on them and it was fine for the
first few days, but got worse each day. I could only finish half of
my veggie sub and threw the rest away :(

any dinner suggestions would be welcomed!

Hi everyone! My name is Heather and I am a 25 year old mother of 3,
yes, 3. My oldest son is Mikey (5), then Andrew (2), and Daniel (12
weeks almost). I am a childbirth educator, so for all intents and
purposes I'm a stay at home mom. My husband and I have been married
for 7 years.

I have been heavy my whole life. My husband doesn't even know what I
weigh, and he doesn't really care either. He is 6 foot tall and 160
pounds and this is the most he's ever weighed, so he doesn't
understand my issue with my weight, only that he knows I want to lose
it. I have about 100 pounds that I want to lose....of course more if
I want to be at my "ideal weight" but I can't even imagine that
weight.

My mom, who is also obese, is considering gastric bypass. Well,
actually I think she would do it right this second if her insurance
would pay for it. I just don't want to resort to that. I am happy.
I have a great life, a wonderful husband and beautiful children. I
love my job and I love my life in general. I just want to love my
body too. Anyway, that's me.

I'm going to start on the diet sometime this week, and I'll post back
and let everyone know how I'm doing.

The last pics taken of me were when I was in labor w/ my last son and
shortly after his birth. You can see them at www.monsterlizard.com
(my husband's site) in the "basking" section.

Thanks!!

Hey gang -

Thanks for this group. I have been lurking sround different groupd
trying to find something that I though I could stick to, and after
much thought and deliberation I have decided t be a subway-head!

I am hoping that this group will offer both encouragement and
accountability, as I will try to do the same for you guys.

I really need to be successful at this. I curerntly am at 277 ounds
(I am 6 feet tall). I would like to get down to 215 - but I have set
some progressive goals.

My first goal is to get down to 269. That may not sound like much,
but to get out of the 270s will be progress to me.

My second goal is 249 pounds. It has been a few years since I weighed
under 250 and I look forward to this.

My third goal is 235 pounds. I picked 235 because I can remember
weighing that much for a long time and this will be a real benchmark
for me.

Goal number four is 219 - I cannot imagine having less than five
pounds to go to reach my goal weight.

Goal number five is my goal weight of 215 pounds. I will then re-
evaluate and celebrate andd ecied where to go from here.

I pray that with God's guidance and your help, I will stick with my
goals.

Thanks again for letting me be part of your group.

Think of me in the morning - my journey begins then.

TCK

Hi everyone :) I've been here before, back nearly two years ago when
my daughter started this club! I am still struggling with "weighty
matters", though my daughter (who was never really very big)is now
quite slim and gorgeous. And has stayed that way. Her poor old mother
can't seem to change her bad old ways!
I think part of the problem is the feast or famine lifestyle we lead.
Both of us are in college and not working, so we either have a lot or
nothing at all. When we have a lot we naturally indulge. When we have
nothing we eat either cheap, cheap food (fattening)or when family
helps us out we eat whatever they offer...and we've discovered the
poorer we are the hungrier we seem to be (even if we aren't actually
hungry at all!)
It is an interesting dynamic.
Anyway, it's nice to see the club thriving so well, congratulations!
I welcome any advice and will post ideas I have (even though I don't
seem to follow them!)

Dear Nancy, Just a short message from me to wish you well in your
quest to lose weight. I periodically follow the Subway Diet, losing
a few pounds here and there but I have a tendency to veer off the
straight and narrow, so to speak, every now and then. Hoping that
this site will inspire me to stick with it tho'! I'm 5/7" and
currently weigh about 160 lbs. I believe I need to lose between 25-30
lbs in order to reach my ideal weight. However for me just to be
able to stick to the Subway Diet for longer than three or four days
at a time will be a feat in itself. Sorry I didn't mean to put you
off - it IS a great diet, trust me - it's just my own
stupidity/boredom that makes me start bingeing on other foods
anyway and I soon come back to my senses! Good luck for the future
and keep us up to date with your progress.

Love from ~ wildebirde ~

As a great fan of Subway sandwiches I decided to join up here as I am
(rather unsuccessfully) trying to lose about 25 - 30 lbs in weight.
I have been on - and 0ff! - the Subway Diet for the past couple of
months and managed to lose about 10 lbs, only to put it all back on
again (and then some) when I was on vacation in March this year.

As mentioned, I do love Subway sandwiches although recently I have
been finding it difficult to stick to just eating the subs every day
and have been bingeing on chips and pretzels instead. (tut! tut!)

Here's hoping that by reading your messages I shall gain the
encouragement and support I so desperately need to get myself back on
the straight and narrow, so to speak!

A little bit about myself: I'm 5/7" and weigh about 160 lbs. I
absolutely hate exercise/gyms of any description, prefer to keep fit
by walking everywhere instead. Interested to hear what sort of diet
plan(s) you follow. Pam Blakeman's Diet Plan is particularly good,
btw.

If any of you wish to e-mail me or send a message to me here, please
feel free to do so. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all
better as the weeks go on and wish you all the best of luck in your
slimming campaigns.

Till next time - love and best wishes from ~wildebirde ~

This is a letter I posted to my own diet/support group and it tells a
little about me as well.
Vicki
At this point, there's nothing you can do about the past, so you may
as
well move ahead. Stop looking backward and start looking forward. The
only way to change the past is to rewrite your memories of it, but
that would be a mistake. Much can be learned from the choices you've
made. There is a lot more you can do about the future, beginning
right
now. This is a good day to make a list of your life's priorities.
Start with the most important goal and work down the list from there.

This was my horoscope but I think it's important enough to share with
everyone. We all at times remember back to an earlier time,
especially if we were at a smaller size, and wish we could be that
size again. As we get older, our bodies change and it's up to us to
make the best choices we can now and stop trying to change back to
how we were in the past. That hit home to me especially since I have
a photo of myself that was taken 7 years ago when I was about 130
lbs. I was so pleased with how I looked and the size outfits I could
wear. But my lifestyle changed completely then when I got married and
so did my priorities and my weight went up. Now I'm pushing myself to
get back down to a weight that may be a little low for me to
maintain. So I'm adjusting my goals as of today. I'm going to work to
get down to 155 lbs and then work to stay there. So that means I need
to lose 13 lbs.
Everyone should set realistic goals for themselves...not what some
fashion magazine says you should weigh. Remember most of those
photo's are airbrushed.
I do want all of you to be happy and healthy. Be a size you as
individuals can accept as the right weight for you to be. Don't let
others tell you what the right size is for you. Everyone is
different. Think of your parents and grandparents sizes. Generally
you're destined to be about the same size they were if they were at a
healthy weight. I think as long as everyone eats as healthily as they
can and exercises 2-3 times a week then the rest will follow over
time. But don't try to make yourself be a size you don't stand a
chance of staying at just because you USED to weigh that or someone
tells you that's what you should weigh. Weigh what you are most
comfortable with and what's easy to maintain.
End of pep talk...Have a wonderful day.
Vicki

Hi Nancy!! Glad to hear your trying the diet. I have been on it
since Feb. 18 and so far have lost 18 lbs. I have been eating subway
mostly for lunch and eating a sensible dinner, counting calories and
fat, keeping it low fat and low cal. You might want to check out the
other group which is subwaydieters. There are many more members who
actively post messages in that group. They are all very supportive
and are all doing many different things to lose weight. I stick with
that group now since I noticed no one seems to post anything in this
group. I wish you luck, I know you can do it. I started at 253lbs
and now am at 235lbs. and i'm about 5'6''. It takes a lot of
dedicaton but we can do it. Hope to hear from you in the other group!
Monica
