This is a letter I posted to my own diet/support group and it tells a
little about me as well.
Vicki
At this point, there's nothing you can do about the past, so you may
as
well move ahead. Stop looking backward and start looking forward. The
only way to change the past is to rewrite your memories of it, but
that would be a mistake. Much can be learned from the choices you've
made. There is a lot more you can do about the future, beginning
right
now. This is a good day to make a list of your life's priorities.
Start with the most important goal and work down the list from there.

This was my horoscope but I think it's important enough to share with
everyone. We all at times remember back to an earlier time,
especially if we were at a smaller size, and wish we could be that
size again. As we get older, our bodies change and it's up to us to
make the best choices we can now and stop trying to change back to
how we were in the past. That hit home to me especially since I have
a photo of myself that was taken 7 years ago when I was about 130
lbs. I was so pleased with how I looked and the size outfits I could
wear. But my lifestyle changed completely then when I got married and
so did my priorities and my weight went up. Now I'm pushing myself to
get back down to a weight that may be a little low for me to
maintain. So I'm adjusting my goals as of today. I'm going to work to
get down to 155 lbs and then work to stay there. So that means I need
to lose 13 lbs.
Everyone should set realistic goals for themselves...not what some
fashion magazine says you should weigh. Remember most of those
photo's are airbrushed.
I do want all of you to be happy and healthy. Be a size you as
individuals can accept as the right weight for you to be. Don't let
others tell you what the right size is for you. Everyone is
different. Think of your parents and grandparents sizes. Generally
you're destined to be about the same size they were if they were at a
healthy weight. I think as long as everyone eats as healthily as they
can and exercises 2-3 times a week then the rest will follow over
time. But don't try to make yourself be a size you don't stand a
chance of staying at just because you USED to weigh that or someone
tells you that's what you should weigh. Weigh what you are most
comfortable with and what's easy to maintain.
End of pep talk...Have a wonderful day.
Vicki
