I've not got cancer, and luckily noone really close to me has been affected
by the terrible disease
I came across Steve's diary randomly in Google
There is a lot of talk about 'fighting cancer' and 'losing' a battle with
cancer. The unfortunate implication is that those that 'lose' were not
STRONG enough or were not POSITIVE enough to beat it. However having read
Steve's blog it is clear to me that he was both of these things and yet he
still 'lost'.
I've been trying to quit smoking since I started! (Im 28, started when I was
15). I've looked at photos of burnt out damaged lungs and read reports of
the damage that cancer can do to families and individuals, but the truth
is...
NEGATIVE stories aren't motivating, they just make you depressed!
Steve's story is one of the saddest and yet most POSITIVE I have ever read
and I've never felt more motivated to quit smoking than I do now. So I am.
TODAY
..the brighter the light.. the more disturbing it is when someone switches
it off..
Thanks Steve
