Hi Katrina,
This is so strange, I signed up to get on this site
six months ago, and I just received my first posting
from you. The really odd part is you said you had
been treated at Vanderbilt, and my oncologist told me
last Friday, she is moving to Nashville next month and
taking a position at Vanderbilt, and her specialty is
Head & NECK (including esophogeal ) cancer. Her name
is Dr. Jill Gilbert, and she truly, with the help of
God, saved my life. I'm a three year throat cancer
survivor. You have a double whammy with Bi-polar
disorder, my husband has it and every day is a
challenge for him even on medication. My heart and
prayers go out to you. We're in the New Orleans area
and its because of Katrina that my doctor is leaving.
Cancer patients here have had a difficult time
locating their specialists after Katrina. Please keep
in touch anytime.
