Hi my name is Theresa and I am new to the Group. We found out March
14 that my dad has cancer. It is stage 3 Sqoumos(sp?) and the primary
is located in his tonsil. It all just seems to be happening so fast,
it is like the water draining out of the bath tub in that spiral
whirlpool. My dad just turned 57 in Feb. Feb. 14th to be exact. He
has been feeling fine but felt a lump in his neck so after hurting
his knee at work mentioned it to the Dr he was seeing for his knee.
The Dr gave him some med. and said it should clear up in a week, if
it wasn't gone to come back in. Well it wasn't gone and that is when
everything started CATscans MRIs. HE has opted for the surgery and
then radiation. He went to the dentist today and they will be
removing 7 teeth tomorrow, and then he is having surgery on Tuesday.
They are just so many things going through my mind. I am sure you all
know what I mean. It just not something you even expect. I have read
a few stories that give me great hope that my dad will make a full
recovery, but I can't help but read the other web sites that show
the "medical" side of everything and break down and cry in fear of
what could happen. I know what the Drs have told us to expect from
the surgery, but would love to hear from other that have gone through
it. I know Drs. tend to give worst case, so I am trying my hardest
not to let it get to me. I look forward to hear some of your stories
and having support from others as my dad makes his journey to a full
recovery. God willing.
Good Health and Happiness to All.
Theresa and family
