What is the best way to control head lice infestations?

Head Lice Infestations (Pediculosis capitis) are caused by a highly host-specific creature called, Pediculus humanus capitis, which has infested mankind since from the very beginning.  Head lice infestations have always proved difficult for man and his POISONS to eradicate. In earlier times, people simply shaved their heads and wore wigs in a vain attempt to try to rid themselves of the head lice and risk of diseases associated with this blood-sucking little insect. Even today, treatments for head lice are not always effective, and options are very limited and usually do not remove the nits with the first "treatment"..

Most head lice controls can be divided into non-pesticidal formulations, topical over-the-counter agents, and prescription topical remedies. Non-pesticidal therapies include fine-tooth combing, Vaseline petroleum jelly, mayonnaise, olive oil, and the like. Inasmuch as the overall composition of the nit-sheath protein is chemically quite similar to that of keratin, there was no simple remedy to loosen the nits without damaging the hair shaft. That is until Safe Solutions developed Lice R Gone(R) an enzyme-based shampoo.  Without Lice R Gone's inherent ability to safely and effectively dissolve nit glue - removing the nits with a comb is difficult, tedious, time consuming, painful, aggravating, and not practical in most situations.

There is a definite misconception that petroleum jelly or mayonnaise can be used to kill or smother lice. However in vitro testing shows that placing an adult louse for several hours into petroleum jelly or mayonnaise does not cause death of these hardy little bloodsuckers.  After rinsing the solution off the louse, it quickly regains its total motor capabilities. An overlooked factor in insecticide resistance testing is the ability of lice to appear dead and later to resurrect from their seeming death. Insects are less dependent than mammals on continuous nervous control of respiration and circulation. Why use something that is messy and simply does not work effectively to try to control lice?

Over-the-counter insecticide POISONS consist of two related products, permethrin and pyrethrin (with a synergist, piperonyl butoxide). Although these products were once considered to be effective, resistance has become common and questions arise as to their safety. Treatment failure in most instances can be attributed to pediculicde POISON resistance rather than poor applications or re-infestation. Even the more toxic prescription insecticidal POISON agents for head lice are also now found to have created lice resistance problems. Why use something that is toxic and simply does not solve your head lice infestation problem(s)?

Safe Solutions, Inc.'s Lice R Gone(R) enzyme-based shampoo is a FDA registered medical device that safely and effectively removes both lice and nits in a few minutes without combing.  If you are not satisfied there is a money-back guarantee.  http://www.safesolutionsinc.com  and  http://www.licergone.com
