Hey everybody. My name is Rachel, i am 17. On Monday there was a blood drive
at my school, I am very scared of needles I tried to give blood. I got scared
of the needle and i got out of the chair. People started to make fun of me
for it. Also i had lots of school work and my dad is kinda moving. Long
story short three hours later i started crying and all of the sudden I
couldn't breathe and my heart was pounding. I went into the guidance
counselor's office and I figured out I was having a panic attack.......
The next morning i got to school, I held in the attack for about twenty
minutes during class and I just let it out, and i had one for about an hour.
It was really scary. For my last class of the day I tought I was starting to
get another one because my heart was pounding again but I started tensing up
my arms that were getting numb and I fixed some of it. Because I have never
had a panic attack before and no one from my family has.......My therapist
gave me Atavan (anti-anxeity) medication so if I had one again I could take
it. But I don't know if I will. Anyway for any of you who read all this.
thanks. I just wanted to talk to people who have had the same experience.
Thanks, Rachel
