Hi Lacie
When I was 15 my mom was diagonsed with cancer it was hard to deal with but I got thought it. Just be there for her but don't lose yourself. Don't think of a life without your mom think of one with her in it. Think of the good times. You said that you are painting that good as long as you focous on good things it will help.I tryed different things. I starting going to church, talking to people,I even started working to help with the bills so she didn't have to worry about them. The thing is don't forget who you are. My mom got really sick so I had to go on indepent study to take care of her and now two years later she is better and I have to found myself. Its hard to see someone you love sick and you can't do anything about it. Just keep praying and talking with people if you need someone to talk to email me I loved to help you anyway I can. don't forget to tell your mother that you love you and really show her that you do.
Just keep painting.

Hi Lacie,My name is Shannon. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and your mom. You are both also in my prayers. I really hope you are a person of faith, because I have been in your mom's shoes. Faith is what got me through it.It is fantastic that you have your painting to help you express your emotions. I like to write. Don't give up your painting.I'm not a doctor and my cancer wasn't the same as your mother's, so I would be lying if I told you that everything is going to be fine. The thing to remember is that your mother loves you very much and will do everything within her to get better. You just have to keep the faith.Lacie, I know to you I am now just an old lady of 21. Believe me when I tell you that your mother will do what she can to get better. I now have an eighteen month baby girl, who is my 'everything'. She is what keeps me going and determined to stay better. There is not a night that I don't thank God for giving me Maria and my husband Robby. All of this happened since my cancer.I know I have talked about faith and God, I don't know how comfortable you are talking about that subject. In addition to my faith, I never lost my sense of humor. My then boyfriend (now husband Robby) and my two best girlfriends made sure that I took my disease seriously, but not myself. That was how I dealt with losing my hair at the age of eighteen.Lacie, I could go on, but I really don't know what would upset you or make you feel better. If you want to tell me a little about yourself that would be great. If you want to know more about what I went through, I will be glad to share that with you.The best advice I can offer right now is to just, go to your mom and tell her that she is 'your everything'; I bet she feels the same way about you. Give her lots of hugs tell her you love her.Lacie, keep painting and I'll keep praying. All My Best,Shannon

2 years ago, my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer. it then spread,
its stage 4..and shes had many many surgeries. everything was fine,
she responded to chemo and everything.. her numbers have just recently
shot back up again.. i dont know what to do, im only 15 and cant seem
to talk to anyone. shes been really sick lately, its really hard on
me. when she first was diagnosed and in the hospital constantally, i
fell into a moderate depression.. that was rough believe me.. but im
better now, i cope with my emotions through painting; that seems to
help. i seriously dont know what i would do without her.. shes my
everything. i was wondering if there are any teens out there like me,
someone i can talk to without actually being face to face.__________________________________________________
