Re: I feel Horrible...

Hi,

Well if your hating yourself it could be that your responding to a
lot of pressure. A lot of times people who hate themselves don't
really hate THEMSELVES as much as the person THEY BECAME from
responding to pressures put on by family, school, friends etc.

A person can respond to so many external pressures that pretty soon
they can lose track of themselves inside. If you keep responding to
external pressures you become "conditioned" to respond in a way that
can make you feel like your becoming a robot

It's nice that you do good at school - but do you do it to make other
people happy? Would you feel inferior if you got a bad grade? If yes,
thats a sign that your wound up too much and pushing/being pushed too
hard.

It's degrading to have to keep responding to pressure. It causes
anger that can make a person feel guilty and not know why. If your
feeling angry, guilty, anxious and pressured, it makes you feel like
an effect in life instead of a cause. Experiences will go through you
instead of you through them. Being vulnerable like this can make
someone feel inferior from not being able to be themselves. People
stuck like this can drive even harder trying to feel better - and end
up feeling worse anyway.

Feeling stupid isn't always bad. It's good to admit we don't know
something. Never be afraid to feel "answerless". Seeing you dont know
something will cause you to learn the answer. If you pretend to know
you will block yourself off from discovering.

Sometimes too, we can feel stupid from learning the wrong way. You
should be aware and have an intuition. If your head just gets stuffed
like a sausage with a lot of information and facts - but no
understanding - you'll actually have less sense. We all have seen the
person who does great in school but is lost between their ears.
Learning and understanding are two different things. Your brain can
get so good and discovering the complexities of a problem, and
imagining the possible options, that you can get lost in it all and
not be able to see the best solutions.

This is worse if we are "reactive" people. Getting upset makes us
think too much and this in turn makes us feel too much and so round
and round we go...thinking/feeling..feeling/thinking..all the time
more confused.

It's always best not too get too upset responding to pressure, and
then working hard to get approval, while ignoring that we can drive
ourselves too hard and get lost in all the thoughts and feelings.
Anyway...just some thoughts. You take it easy on yourself.
