Re: [sweatyfriends] Hello sweaty friends!

Hi Marcella. I'm glad you wrote because were alike on a couple of levels. I not only have HH, but I also have been strongly considering nursing school. I feel that I have the personality and work ethic to be a nurse and really would like to be, however my confidence has been dwindling lately and i'm thinking of backing out of the idea, yes, because of my HH. I don't know if I could follow through with the profession in this condition, and so needless to say, it brings me some confidence to hear someone here is going into nursing!! Could you tell me a little more about your thoughts on it? Thanks. -Kate

Anyway, my name is Marcella and I live in British Columbia, Canada. I
am  also a HH sufferer and I am in nursing school. Next term, starting
January 3rd I will start my clinicals and I am freaking out with the
idea of touching patients with cold hands. In my health assessment
classes this past term, some of my classmates had the incredible
chance of being touched by my wet and cold hands and they seemed not
to care, maybe because I let them know how concerned I was.. you guys
have no idea how I tried to keep myself cool, but sometimes my feet
also would sweat so much. Thanks God when we had to check each other's
pedal pulses my feet were dry.

I never tried Dryonic, but bought drysol and it worked for 2 weeks
then my hands and feet started sweating again like crazy. I chose not
to have that surgery done. One of my instructors who is a neurosurgeon
didn't recommend me having it done.

Anyway, I am looking forward to meet some of you..
All the best in 2006.

M.
