Hi Kersten,
My symptoms were fatigue and inability to "bounce back" from the flu. That's
why I went to the doctor. The diagnosis took me completely by surprise. And
the doctor tells me I've probably had it for ten years!
When you go for the bone marrow biopsy, take someone with you. My husband was
there to hold my hand, and that helped a lot. Of course, my experience was very
unusual--it took several tries to get a sample. You'll be relieved to know that
the doctor said that was the first time she'd had so much difficulty. Still,
it's always good to have someone with you when you go for medical tests and
procedures.
Good luck. And if the diagnosis does come back as leukemia, it's shocking but
it's not necessarily the end. It just means another big change in your life.
