Ok well i found some of what foods include them ok. so how much of
fish or nut`s would have to be eatten to equal about 500 or 1000-1500
mg of the L-Arginine pills that they sale? and how much of
turkey,chicken and or beans would have to be consumed to equal a
healthy ammount of L-Lysine?

Sorry about the long post before but i couldnt find a site with the
help i needed and after i posted i found one that talks about them
but they dont go into details on how much is enough or how old you
have to be inorder to take it cause they claim you shouldnt take the
stuff when your young since it will mess up your growing body
functions,ect but since i found out what i needed the only question i
have is how much of each of thoses natraul food source of lysine and
arginine would have to be consumed to equal what i asked above.

Im wondering what kind of food,fruits,ect I could find L-Arginine and

PLAN THE SHOP AND SHOP THE PLAN!!!!



We hear so much about having a plan in mind when reaching for our goals,
don't we? I am definitely an advocate of writing out your goals and then
putting a plan of action into place to attain those goals. Well, quite
frankly, our grocery shopping excursions should be no different. We need to
have a PLAN of action in place to keep us on track for our healthy eating
plan.



This newsletter will bullet point some suggestions to help you keep on
target when going food shopping so that you can achieve your goal: eat
healthy and be healthy! Try some of them:



*          Eat BEFORE you shop! The layout of the grocery stores is designed
for impulse buying.

*          Go to the store with a list and stick pretty close to it. This
helps you buy what you need; instead of what you want!

*          Head straight for the fresh produce department. Fresh fruits &
vegetables are essential to a healthy diet. Fill up your cart with them
FIRST as they are the foundation to your healthy eating program. In addition
to your fresh fruits and veggies, remember that I take and recommend Juice
Plus+ for a great addition to a healthy diet. In just 4 capsules, you get
the nutritional essence of 15 servings of fresh, raw, vine-ripened fruits
and vegetables.

*          I encourage you to try a new fruit or vegetable with every trip.
We tend to get in a rut of eating the same fruits and vegetables every
week...we need a variety of produce. Go for color too. Be adventurous!

*          One of my best recommendations I can offer you is to stay on the
periphery of the store as you shop. Most of the "healthier" food choices
will be on the outside aisles. The only reason that I go down any of the
center aisles is to get cat food and litter! Most of the foods in the center
aisles are loaded with sugar, hydrogenated oils, preservatives and additives
in order to tempt your taste buds and to prolong shelf-life. AVOID them!

*          Everyone has an aisle that is their weakness. You don't need me
to tell you to avoid it!

*          Read labels as you shop and pay attention to serving size and
servings per container. Remember that 4 grams of sugar = 1 teaspoon sugar if
you are trying to watch your sugar intake.

*          Avoid the free samples. They are usually loaded with both lots of
sugar or unhealthy fats and lots of carbs. Take food with you to munch on
while shopping if this is a tough battle for you.

*          Buy the freshest items. The fresher the food, the more nutritious
it will be.

*          Pick the leanest cut of beef. Free-range meats and poultry are
always the best choice, but there are other options if these are not
available to you. In terms of beef, choose the leanest cuts as most of the
toxins from hormones and antibiotics will settle in fattier tissue, so the
fatter cuts tend to have more toxins.

*          If the chicken is from a factory, don't eat the skin. Factory
chickens are raised in extremely overcrowded conditions which paves the way
for disease. If you don't have access to free-range, organic or cage-free
chicken, be sure to remove the skin before eating.

*          Buy ocean-caught fish; it is better than farm-raised fish. If you
do choose to eat fish from your grocery store (may contain toxins like
mercury and PCB's), don't eat farm-raised fish, as numerous studies have
found it may be harmful to your health. Instead, your best choices would be
fresh, ocean-caught Alaskan salmon and fresh sardines.

*          Fresh food is always better than frozen, but frozen is better
than canned. If you have no choice and must choose between frozen or canned,
frozen would be the better option.

*          Check prices on organic food; it's not always more expensive. It
may also be only slightly more expensive than a comparable regular item, and
in that case the increased nutritional value (and lack of pesticides, etc.)
would be well worth the extra price. Check out the "health food section" of
your store.

*          Consider trying some alternatives to meat such as tofu, tempeh,
lentils, beans and raw nuts. There are also several veggie burgers to try.
Be careful though, read your labels. Many of them do not have whole food
ingredients but are loaded with preservatives and additives.



Before you go through the check out, ask yourself if there is ANY item in
your shopping cart that you could remove to better support your healthy
eating plan. Be honest and leave behind anything that may slow your
progress; since I am far from perfect myself, I have been known to be
handing over 2 or 3 items at checkout to the clerk to rid my cart of
unhealthy choices that I might have made in a moment of
weakness...re-evaluate prior to checkout!

Have you ever read the book "From Here to Longevity" by Dr. Mitra
Ray? I'm reading it right now, and it's fantastic! It sounds like
something you would be interested in since you're so into all the
various nutrients. I've also listened to some of Dr. Ray's lectures
on cassette and CD. She is wonderful. She's a biochemist who applies
her knowledge of biochemistry to health and nutrition.

Hi, Greg.

I'm new to this group, but I saw your question about something
to "rev up" the metabolism. I use something called Juice Plus Thins.
It includes an ingredient called Garcinia Cambogia from the tamarind
fruit. Garcinia Cambogia naturally helps the body metabolize carbs.
It inhibits the body's tendency to store fat, decreases appetite,
and speeds the ability to burn calories, etc, etc, etc. There aren't
any stimulents or drugs in it. They are wafers that you chew. I take
all of the Juice Plus products, and am extremely thrilled with them
all. The main product is their fruit and vegetable capsules,
gummies, or chewables. It's 17 different fruits, vegetables, and
grains that have been juiced, dried (at low temp), and put into the
capsule, chewable, or gummie form. I used to suffer from chronic
epstein-barr virus and chronic fatigue syndrome, but now, I'm pretty

There is always a critic and can't hear the truth when it is right in
front of there face. Maybe if I sent a picture a my son hooked up to
the machines you would change your mind.

Blessed are those who believe and yet have not seen.

It's true that nutrition is they key to a healthy life. When the body
is in pain, it is a signal to your brain, that you are lacking in a
specific supplement. I hate taking vitamins and yet I take a least 20
tablets a day. They include.

multi vitamins (2)
alfalfa (6)
omega 3 (fish oil)the healthy fat (3-6)

I had to take all of this to be healthy and I'm not happy about it
and I dont need anyone to knock me.

My health has never been better. Sometime you have to sacrific what
you want to do for your health to what you need to do.

If anyone needs advice on illness and suggestions, I'm open minded. I
know alot about health and how you need a good diet to help. So many
narrowed mind people think that you can only fix a problem from the
outside of the body. Healing starts from the inside out. Thank you

And if you don't have an air filter YOU are the air filter...
same with water...you are the filter :)

I just wanted to share my health story with everyone. I've been sick
a good part of my life. I had Asthma, and a weak immune system. For
years I hated when the weather changed, when the rain came, or when

When I meet my hubby, his mother was a vitamin freak. I hated taking
vitamins and I didn't until the birth of my first son. He had a
severe case of croup, which caused us to spend endless night in a
hospital. My poor baby boy was in an oxygen tent and pump full of
steroids to open his lungs for five days. Nothing seems to help.

My mother-in-law suggested Shaklee Alfalfa tablets. Alfalfa regulates
the fluids in the body and including in the lungs, between joints,
and in cartilage. Sure enough after a month or two, the symptoms and
attacks were fewer and fewer. Still it wasn't enough.

Finally, we just needed to realize the effect on indoor air
pollution. It's awful. After great criticism and scrutiny, we
purchased a wonderful air purifier called the AirSource 3000. It

True it may appear that way but this list has pretty much developed
into a bulletin board rather than a discussion group.  I'm
moderating this group because the original owner is pretty much
gone, haven't heard from him in years.

So...all members are moderated and real spam (not related to health
issues) are deleted before they ever hit your box.

I'd love to engage some folks in an actual discussion of what they
need to handle and what others are doing BUT we do have to watch our
claims with the FDA <grin>
