I do not use oil pulling as a therapy (since excepting high cholesterol, I did not have any health issue) but just to clean the smelly plaque that forms in the mouth during the night (if you clean your tongue with a teaspoon, you can smell what you get on the edge of it).

A top boffin at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) says that the titanic machine may possibly create or discover previously unimagined scientific phenomena, or "unknown unknowns" - for instance "an extra dimension". "Out of this door might come something, or we might send something through it," said Sergio Bertolucci, who is Director for Research and Scientific Computing at CERN, briefing reporters including the Reg at CERN HQ earlier this week. The LHC, built inside a 27-km circular subterranean tunnel deep beneath the Franco-Swiss border outside Geneva, functions like a sort of orbital motorway for extremely high-speed hadrons - typically either protons or lead ions. The differences are, firstly, that the streams of particles are moving at velocities within a whisker of light speed - such that each stream has as much energy in it as a normal car going at 1000mph. Secondly, the beams are arranged in such fashion that the two streams swerve through one another occasionally, which naturally results in huge numbers of incredibly violent head-on collisions. These collisions are sufficiently violent that they are expected to briefly create conditions similar to those obtaining countless aeons ago, not long after the Big Bang, when the entire universe was still inconceivably small - it was smaller than a proton for quite some time, seemingly, still with all the stuff that nowadays makes up all the supra-enormity of space and galaxies and so forth packed in somehow. Naturally, some extremely strange phenomena are to be expected when one mangles the very fabric of space-time itself in this fashion. Various eccentric nutballs have claimed that this would doom humanity in one fashion or another; perhaps converting the entire Earth, everything on it and possibly the rest of the universe too into "strangelet soup", monopole mulligatawny or some other sort of frightful sub-particulate blancmange or custard. It has also been suggested that cack-handed boffins at the LHC might inadvertently call into being a miniature black hole and carelessly drop this into the centre of the Earth, rather irritatingly causing the planet to implode. It's certainly to be hoped that the button marked "Call Black Hole Into Being" on the control board has some kind of flip-down cover over it. Obviously all that's utter rubbish. But some boffins have speculated that black holes might alternatively act as spacewarp wormhole portals into alternate universes, or something. This would seem to chime with Bertolucci's remarks this week on hyperdimensional "doors" out of which might come unspecified "somethings". Anyone who has watched a TV, read any sci-fi or seen any movies will be well aware that hyperdimensional spacewarp wormhole portals don't normally lead to anything boring like empty space, parallel civilisations where humanity lives in peace and harmony or anything like that. Rather, it seems a racing cert that we're looking here at an imminent visit from a race of carnivorous dinosaur-men, the superhuman clone hive-legions of some evil genetic queen-empress, infinite polypantheons of dark nega-deities imprisoned for aeons and hungering to feast upon human souls, a parallel-history victorious Nazi globo-Reich or something of that type. We took the matter up with Dr Mike Lamont, a control-room boffin at the LHC. "We're hoping to see supersymmetry and extra dimensions," he confirmed. Pressed on the matter of doors through which something might come, as hinted at by Bertolucci, Lamont rather elliptically said "well, he's a theorist", before recommending the book Warped Passages by physicist Lisa Randall. This explores ways in which extra-dimensional space and entities might interact with our own. It uses among others the example of how a sphere moving in 3D space would appear to someone living on a single 2D plane-space - that is as a mysterious circle suddenly blossoming into existence, growing, perhaps moving about and then shrinking down and vanishing again. "There's no maths in it," added Lamont encouragingly, having assessed the intellectual level of the Reg news team with disconcerting percipience. Summarising, then, it appears that we might be in for some kind of invasion by spontaneously swelling and shrinking spherical or wheel-shaped creatures - something on the order of the huge rumbling stone ball from Indiana Jones - able to move in and out of our plane at will. Soon the cities of humanity will lie in smoking ruins, shattered by the Attack of the Teleporting Juggernaut-tyrants from the Nth Dimension. Dr Bertolucci later got in touch to confirm that yes indeed, there would be an "open door", but that even with the power of the LHC at his disposal he would only be able to hold it open "a very tiny lapse of time, 10-26 seconds, [but] during that infinitesimal amount of time we would be able to peer into this open door, either by getting something out of it or sending something into it. "Of course," adds Bertolucci, "after this tiny moment the door would again shut, bringing us back to our 'normal' four dimensional world ... It would be a major leap in our vision of Nature, although of no practcal use (for the time being, at least). And of course [there would be] no risk to the stability of our world." We say: Excellent. I am an engineer and I majored in maths. Yet the thing about that sort of education is that I find it rather irritating to see the beauty, objectivity and crisp discipline of maths and science blurred and massaged into some gooo which is an extrapolation of someone else's intuition. The scientific meaning of the word vibration for example is being sucked in and mixed up with some pseudo-scientific gobblygook. On the other hand I have experienced the powerful forces of intuition that have been seen by others as insanity so I understand that too and I don't want to discourage anyone from doing their best to express their intuition the best way they can. In that context I ask Dan to let out a bit of rope because between the lines people are attempting to express their experience. Language is such an inadequate tool for sharing such emotions as I have surely found out the hard way. I try to listen to people using words for which I have a different definition and there is no value judgement there. Communication at that level is not easy and one must try to understand what people are trying to say more that just listening to the words they speak.

A lifetime studying quantum mechanics has convinced Bernard d'Espagnat that the world we perceive is merely a shadow of the ultimate reality.

This reality is something that, while not a purely mind-made construct as radical idealism would have it, can be but the picture our mind forces us to form of ... Of what ? The only answer I am able to provide is that underlying this empirical reality is a mysterious, non-conceptualisable "ultimate reality", not embedded in space and (presumably) not in time either.

To put it in a nutshell, in this quest I first found that whatever way you look at it the quantum mechanical formalism, when taken at face value, compels us to consider that two particles that have once interacted always remain bound in a very strange, hardly understandable way even when they are far apart, the connection being independent of distance.

Even though this connection-at-a-distance does not permit us to transmit messages, clearly it is real. In other words space, so essential in classical physics, seems to play a considerably less basic role in quantum physics.

Entanglement-at-a-distance does physically exist, in the sense that it has physically verifiable (and verified) consequences. Which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that some of our most engrained notions about space and causality should be reconsidered.

I still don't know who you mean..."these guys". I've not heard of any technology related to what Barbar Marciniak speaks about. (Maybe there is and I just don't know about it.) Dan, I don't know who you're referring to when you say "these guys". However, my
learning never comes from listening to someone else.

I hear ideas, messages, philosophies and apply what I can to my own life to see
what works and what doesn't -- internally.

So I guess in a sense I'm a scientist of my own inner workings.

I'm curious though...what makes you so sarcastic and demeaning about these
things?

It seems the more we advance by breaking down science into pieces and developing technologies outside ourselves, the further we get from knowing the true fabric of existence and transforming into the vast human beings we truly are.

Doug, I wasn't referring to the interview with Barbara Marciniak posted earlier.
I was referring to the audio "Bringers of the Dawn" that she channeled more than
20 years ago. The link I posted in only the first in a series.

To be honest, I've found a few inconsistencies in the audio that contradict my
current understanding of things - such as energy centers in the body---but
something resonates with me in regards to the overall message.

Hi Geejay,

   You bring up a great point.  There is much debate about the the difference
between sudden enlightenment and gradual enlivenment in Buddhist circles.  Some
of the conditions leading to sudden enlightenment is based on the individuals
capacity and previous good karma.  Some on viewpoint.  A sudden glimpse of
enlightened reality is wonderful, but usually doesn't lead to permanent
transformation, without sustained continued practice-- this seems to be the
predominant attitude among various teachers.

Here is a snip from an article that I read yesterday.  It talks about the
difference between spiritual states and stages.

Spirituality and States: Getting Beyond the Good Stuff

Spirituality is, in large part, a state-change business.  Before you pray, do
yoga, meditate, etc., you're thinking about mortgages and to-do lists, but
during your practice, something shifts and you feel opened to something that
feels "greater."  Afterward, you feel refreshed and re-energized.  This is what
state-change is: moving your mind from one way of being to another.  And
spiritual seekers have developed a wonderful array of tools to enable it to
happen.

For most spiritual folks, state change is what it's all about.  As I'll describe
in a moment, spiritual states have the power to open the mind, nourish the
heart, and change the world.  They are, I think, the most important force for
social and environmental sustainability on the planet.  And they can be lots of
fun, too.

But states can also become dead-ends, or misconstrued, or actually dangerous. 
For every one hippie becoming one with the universe, there are five
fundamentalists ossifying their experience into dogmas of hate and
ethnocentrism.  So, do the costs outweigh the benefits?  Is there a way to get
the good stuff without the bad?  And what lies beyond spiritual states for those
of us experienced enough in the spiritual path to have grown weary of them? 
Let's take a look.



1. The Benefits of (Temporary) Transformation

The first value of spiritual states is what might be called their "negative"
capacity: you get to see that you are not your "box" of identity, predilections,
and mind. You get a break from being you, and that is really important. This you
can experience easily.  Go to a drum circle. Let go totally, get into the
rhythm. Forget yourself, like hopefully you do during sex. Lo and behold!  Mind,
ego, and all the rest of your personality finally shuts up-and look, you can
experience life just fine without it!  Maybe even better, and more alive!  So,
states are really useful, if only for that.

Spiritual states also have a "positive" capacity.  There's something important
about those experiences when the walls of self are lowered.  Drum circle ecstasy
isn't just Not-Usual-Me; there's a glimpse of an oceanic oneness beyond ego, a
melting into the Goddess that is deeply profound and important.  Meditation
retreats bring about a dissolving into the One, a glimpse of the numinous.  At
least as an experience, holiness is real.  All those spiritual weirdos are not
nuts.  I don't know what they're experiencing (more on that in a minute), but
there is an experience, and that experience is really valuable.  And if it gets
mixed in with a notion of deities or spirits or whatever, these are useful
concepts, even if they are only concepts.

Third, mystical states have a tendency to shift one's priorities, in useful
ways.  You experience this joy and bliss and compassion, and you get a little
less obsessed with competition, career, and materialism.  At least for a while. 
These states, transient as they are, yield a deeper, wider perspective on life's
"stuff."  Would we really have as many angry people, hunters, sexual predators,
stressed out neurotic nuts, or conservatives if everyone underwent a real state
change every Friday night or Sunday morning?  I don't think so.  It wouldn't
save the world, but it would help if we were all a little more calm, and more
infused with a joy that doesn't depend on consumption.

More specifically, genuine spiritual states invariably lead to compassion.  I
don't know why that is; it's kind of a miracle.  And that compassion leads to
all kinds of good things: less selfishness, more justice, less greed, more
generosity, less hate, more love.  I can hear my social-justice-obsessed editor
clucking her tongue at spiritual narcissism, so let me emphatically state that,
in my view, nothing would be better for the global pursuit of social justice
than for more and more people to meditate and cultivate compassion on a personal
level first.  As I suggested in an earlier article, there is just no convincing
a conservative that it's worth caring about some unfortunate marginalized
person.  They have to feel it themselves, and that takes changing the heart-and
that takes spiritual practice.  I don't see any other way if what we're after is
durable, systemic change rather than fighting about the cause of the moment.

An Abrupt Climate Change Scenario and Its Implications for United States National Security

The Cooling Event 8,200 Years Ago

Immediately following an extended period of warming, much like the phase we appear to be in today, there was a sudden cooling. Average annual temperatures in Greenland dropped by roughly 5 degrees Fahrenheit, and temperature decreases nearly this large are likely to have occurred throughout the North Atlantic region. During the 8,200 event severe winters in Europe and some other areas caused glaciers to advance, rivers to freeze, and agricultural lands to be less productive.

In the climate change disruption scenario proposed here, we consider a period of gradual warming leading to 2010 and then outline the following ten years, when like in the 8,200 event, an abrupt change toward cooling in the pattern of weather conditions change is assumed to occur.

The Younger Dryas (12,800 to 11,500 years ago)

About 12,700 years ago, also associated with an apparent collapse of the thermohaline circulation, there was a cooling of at least 27 degrees Fahrenheit in Greenland, and substantial change throughout the North Atlantic region as well, this time lasting 1,300 years. The remarkable feature of the Younger Dryas event was that it happened in a series of decadal drops of around 5 degrees, and then the cold, dry weather persisted for over 1,000 years. While this event had an enormous effect on the ocean and land surrounding Europe (causing icebergs to be found as far south as the coast of Portugal), its impact would be more severe today – in our densely populated society.

The Little Ice Age

This period, often referred to as the Little Ice Age, which lasted from 1300 to 1850, brought severe winters, sudden climatic shifts, and profound agricultural, economic, and political impacts to Europe.

The period was marked by persistent crop failures, famine, disease, and population migration, perhaps most dramatically felt by the Norse, also known as the Vikings, who inhabited Iceland and later Greenland. Ice formations along the coast of Greenland prevented merchants from getting their boats to Greenland and fisherman

from getting fish for entire winters. As a result, farmers were forced to slaughter their poorly fed livestock -- because of a lack of food both for the animals and themselves -- but without fish, vegetables, and grains, there was not enough food to feed the population.

Famine, caused in part by the more severe climatic conditions, is reported to have caused tens of thousands of deaths between 1315 and 1319 alone. The general cooling also apparently drove the Vikings out of Greenland -- and some say was a contributing cause for that society’s demise.

It has been less than 175 years since 1 million people died due to the Irish Potato famine, which also was induced in part by climate change.

A Climate Change Scenario For the Future

The past examples of abrupt climate change suggest that it is prudent to consider an abrupt climate change scenario for the future as plausible, especially because some recent scientific findings suggest that we could be on the cusp of such an event. The future scenario that we have constructed is based on the 8,200 years before present

event, which was much warmer and far briefer than the Younger Dryas, but more severe than the Little Ice Age.

Human civilization began with the stabilization and warming of the Earth’s climate. A colder unstable climate meant that humans could neither develop agriculture or permanent settlements. With the end of the Younger Dryas and the warming and stabilization that followed, humans could learn the rhythms of agriculture and settle

in places whose climate was reliably productive. Modern civilization has never experienced weather conditions as persistently disruptive as the ones outlined in this scenario.

The Period from 2010 to 2020

Thermohaline Circulation Collapse

After roughly 60 years of slow freshening, the thermohaline collapse begins in 2010, disrupting the temperate climate of Europe, which is made possible by the warm flows of the Gulf Stream (the North Atlantic arm of the global thermohaline conveyor). Ocean circulation patterns change, bringing less warm water north and causing an immediate shift in the weather in Northern Europe and eastern North America. The North Atlantic Ocean continues to be affected by fresh water coming from melting glaciers, Greenland’s ice sheet, and perhaps most importantly increased rainfall and runoff.

The immediate climatic effect is cooler temperatures in Europe and throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere and a dramatic drop in rainfall in many key agricultural and populated areas. However, the effects of the collapse will be felt in fits and starts, as the traditional weather patterns re-emerge only to be disrupted again—for a full decade.

The Weather Report: 2010-2020

· Drought persists for the entire decade in critical agricultural regions and in the areas around major population centers in Europe and eastern North America.

· Average annual temperatures drop by up to 5 degrees Fahrenheit over Asia and North America and up to 6 degrees Fahrenheit in Europe.

· Temperatures increase by up to 4 degrees Fahrenheit in key areas throughout Australia, South America, and southern Africa.

· Winter storms and winds intensify, amplifying the impact of the changes. Western Europe and the North Pacific face enhanced westerly winds.

Each of the years from 2010-2020 sees average temperature drops throughout Northern Europe, leading to as much as a 6 degree Fahrenheit drop in ten years.

Average annual rainfall in this region decreases by nearly 30%; and winds are up to 15% stronger on average. The climatic conditions are more severe in the continental interior regions of northern Asia and North America.

The Mega-droughts begin in key regions in Southern China and Northern Europe around 2010 and last throughout the full decade. At the same time, areas that were relatively dry over the past few decades receive persistent years of torrential rainfall, flooding rivers, and regions that traditionally relied on dryland agriculture.

Signs of incremental warming appear in the southern most areas along the Atlantic Ocean, but the dryness doesn’t let up. By the end of the decade, Europe’s climate is more like Siberia’s.

Europe. Hit hardest by the climatic change, average annual temperatures drop by 6 degrees Fahrenheit in under a decade, with more dramatic shifts along the Northwest coast. The climate in northwestern Europe is colder, drier, and windier, making it more like Siberia. Southern Europe experiences less of a change but still suffers from sharp intermittent cooling and rapid temperature shifts. Reduced precipitation causes soil loss to become a problem throughout Europe, contributing to food supply shortages. Europe struggles to stem emigration out of Scandinavian and northern European nations in search of warmth as well as immigration from hard-hit countries in Africa and elsewhere.

Possible scenario for Europe:

2012: Severe drought and cold push Scandinavian populations southward, push back from EU

2015: Conflict within the EU over food and water supply leads to skirmishes and strained diplomatic relations

2018: Russia joins EU, providing energy resources

2020: Migration from northern countries such as Holland and Germany toward Spain and Italy

United States. Colder, windier, and drier weather makes growing seasons shorter and less productive throughout the northeastern United States, and longer and drier in the southwest. Desert areas face increasing windstorms, while agricultural areas suffer from soil loss due to higher wind speeds and reduced soil moisture. The change toward a drier climate is especially pronounced in the southern states.

The United States turns inward, committing its resources to feeding its own population, shoring-up its borders, and managing the increasing global tension.

Possible scenario for United States:

2010: Disagreements with Canada and Mexico over water increase tension

2012: Flood of refugees to southeast U.S. and Mexico from Caribbean islands

2015: European migration to United States (mostly wealthy)

2016: Conflict with European countries over fishing rights

2018: Securing North America, U.S. forms integrated security alliance with Canada and Mexico

2020: Department of Defense manages borders and refugees from Caribbean and Europe.

Humanity would revert to its norm of constant battles for diminishing resources, which the battles themselves would further reduce even beyond the climatic effects. Once again warfare would define human life.

2025:

EU nears collapse

Internal conditions in China deteriorate dramatically leading to civil war and border wars.

Internal struggle in Saudi Arabia brings Chinese and U.S. naval forces to Gulf ,in direct confrontation

I heard her refer to the benefits of being outside and glancing at the
sun. I also noticed that she looked toward to her right as she did so.
She might have even grabbed a quick bite of sun light during the
interview. I have certainly done that before on impulse while I have
been talking to someone. I even did some SG while I was praying with a
Christian minister once concerning a troubling issue I was trying to
deal with. He had his eyes closed and I was looking at the sun. I
wouldn't want to share that with too many people in Australia for the
same reason I don't discuss channelling with Pleiadians even if I had

I found the video interesting as well. There are certainly spiritual
forces in the world that much of this generation have been taught /
conditioned to deny and over the coming years I intuitively believe that
there will be a resurgence of spirituality. As part of that
understanding, spiritual books such as the bible will reveal deeper
meaning through the scriptures as people recognise "so that is what they
are talking about" and as their eyes are opened so will their prayers be
answered and people will have dreams and speak prophetically as "the
truth that is written on their hearts rises up and is spoken is spoken".
As that truth rises up I suspect that it willpush a lot of grubby stuff
out with it into the "light" of everyone else's awareness at the same
time. I also think that we will increasingly become aware of where other
people are at as they reveal the state of their soul by means of the
words that come out of their mouths.  People will speak openly about
their sin and not even be aware that they are because their consciences
will have been sceared and they will have lose awareness of "sin" to use
old terminology for something that has been around for a very long time
and even though it is has been defeated the "background radiation" of
sin still remains just like the background radiation of the "big bang.".

Channelling and Paladians is foreign to me and while I am aware that
people genuinely experience communication with spiritual entities it is
not a door I want to open by act of my own will. I want to stay firmly
on this side of that realm for obvious reasons. Other people can do it.
If I spoke in that manner I would be locked up again.

Thanks for the post. I found her warm and optimistic while speaking
plainly about the possibility of difficult times ahead. I agree that
those who are in denial of the spiritual realm will find it the most
difficult.
