Re: [strelnikova_exercise] Re: One Year Anniversary

Yevgen,

I am doing this exercise twice a day non-stop for over one year now. I think if it has some effect on weight, it should be noticeable on most people who are engaged in this exercise, not just obese people who have never done these exercise.

By the way, I found something to be very strange. In the old edition of his book, Mr. Shetinin gives "special recommendations" for people who are obese. He says the following:
"Do these exercises three times a day....You will slim down, your figure will be changed competely in no time." In his newer version of his book, he decided to omit these recommendations for obese people, which are no more than three lines of text. I do not believe he has done it to format the text better on one page. He still leaves exactly the same text, except for these "special recommendations." Could it be that the reason for such omission is because these recommendation simply do not work?  It is really strange the way he took two or three lines of text out.

Yes, I continue to do these exercises because they give me energy, good mood and probably more motivation to do what needs to be done during the day. Otherwise, I would have quit on them the way I quit on all other exercises I had ever done in my life. Right now, I have a hard time making myself lift weights twice a week. I have been doing it for seven months now. I had seen some good results in terms of toning some parts of my body.  In my mind, weight lifting exercises are "hard' as they do make one tired. When I am exhausted as I tend to be, I do not want to make my exhaustion worse. I prefer to do Strelnikova exercises instead. They give me energy. Lifting weights do not even though they are beneficial. I feel the same way about any other exercises I tried to do in my life with one exception of Strelnikova exercises.

Best Regards,

Mark

Maybe your sliming down is not progressing because you are doing
it once a day? Shetinin recommends twice... I am doing it once
a day and it did have positive effect on respiratory illnesses but
I did not notice any "weight" effect. But than again that was never
my problem. Maybe this effect is more noticeable on overweight people
who otherwise never did any exercise before?
I am always looking on overall synergistic effect - starting an easy
exercise such as Strelnikova can give person the idea that exercise
are not as difficult to do regularly as it seems so they might engage
in other exercises more. Ability to stay with the exercise makes
them think better of themselves which in turn causes more active
lifestyle in overall. Than again, as we noticed, it improves
persons mood and energy, which again can result in more active
behavior.
Just the very periodicity of the Strelnikova exercise can have
positive structuring effect on persons life. It remains person
everyday to "think healthy" e.g. to think what he/she eats, what
activity person choses (e.g. sit in front of TV or go for a walk)
etc.

Regards,
Yevgen
