Alexandra Severovna Strelnikova developed an exercise that allowed
professional singers to quickly recover their voice after illness or trauma.
Unexpectedly, it turned out that this exercise has virtue of helping with
wide spectrum of respiratory illnesses, such as asthma, chronic bronchitis
and tuberculosis. Beneficial effect is possibly due to overall increasing
of metabolism and developing respiratory apparatus without decreasing CO2
levels and therefore not causing aggravation of bronchial conditions. It
has also showed promise in general increase of organisms resistance to
respiratory infection. Due to ease of learning and use this technique can
be applied to children starting with 3 years old. Current practitioner
of this exercise, Dr. Michail Shetinin accumulated significant clinical
material in applying this technique, including results of 4 clinical trials
in different central hospitals, which is widely described in Russian literature.
