I am hopeful that this club will help preserve the art of straight razor shaving. Hopefully, we can direct people to places to buy, sell, trade, repair and sharpen razors as well as talk about them. Historical and collecting data is greatly appreciated. Information on strops, mugs and hones will also be welcome. Thanks.

Trevor, I may be exactly where you are, as a couple days ago I visited a Woodcraft store and brought home the same stone. I'd been bearing down too hard while
So i finally got my norton 4k/8k and spent about 30 minutes on it today using the pyramid technique and it just doesnt want to sharpen at all... sooooooo
kind of the right thought process. Fo r the real scoop go to the SRP website, go to the wiki, and under honing there shoudl be a link to the pyramid honing
Hey guys, Remember, as it relates to honing, you do not any grit coarser as 4000/8000, unless you are putting a 'new' edge on a razor, then a 1000 grit stone
Do I understand this right: "pyramid" honing is when you begin with a coarse stone and change to finer stones as you go? If so, that makes sense to me -
