Re: [Stomach Cancer] STILL NO ANSWERS...

Hi Laura

I am sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. My father has recently
passed from stomach cancer and I want to share some of my experiences. If you
feel sick, you know your body better than any dr. Dad went to dr's for 3 years,
and they could not find anything wrong. He had a scope done in the fall, and in
February, we was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. There was nothing found
in the scope. He didn't make 4 months after the diagnosis. Stomach cancer
forms in the lining of the stomach sometime, which can not be seen from the
inside or the outside. Dad new he was sick but they couldn't find out why. If
a dr would have told him, "I can't get you a cat scan or an MRI yet, but it
costs $1000.00 at a private clinic but I strongly suggest you get one done. "
my dad would have gotten it done and it would have given him a stronger chance.
Maybe even chemo or just extra time. Anyway, I just want you to trust your
body. Something is definetly wrong if you
want to curl up in a fetal position, tell your dr you want a scan, and be
pushy. It is your life, not the dr's. Another friend of mine recently in and
out of the hospital because he didn't feel good. The dr tried to tell him he
was depressed becasuse he has had cancer twice already and such. The dr sent
him to a shrink and everything. He got sent back saying he was fine, recently
got results back from a scan and he has lung cancer again...no he's not crazy,
it's cancer. I live in Alberta where it is possible to go to a private clinic
and pay about a $1000 for a scan. Well worth it if it saves your life. Best of
luck, fight for it. Shauna

Well the Upper GI Endoscopy is done. I am tired and sore throat. Weird
thing is that the doctor said that he didn't find anything. No signs of ulcers,
NOTHING. Now, one can say that is good, but then why am I still miserable if I
am off my stomach meds? In pain to the point wanting to curl up in the fetal
position and just die already when I don't have my stomach meds. So the doc
seems convinced that it is my gallbladder somehow. But he said he did some kind
of biopsies of the inside of my stomach and will check those out, if there is
nothing further, they will be calling me to do some more in depth check of my
gallbladder. I have already had an ultrasound of my gallbladder and that checked
out fine. I was really hoping for answers, so I am a bit bummed.
