Dianna,
1. If you can get hold of some transparent "DuoDerm Extra Thin" dressing by ConvaTec a small piece that will cover the eroded skin will protect it until it heals as long as there is no infection.
2. If it is a fungal problem some weak Vinegar-water solution is a great anti-fungal agent before you dry the skin..... it might sting however if the skin is raw.
3. Another thing to try is to dry the skin and apply some 1% Cortisone cream lightly for a few minutes, then wash it off and dry the skin well before applying the wafer. My doctor said that even if only on the skin a short time it will be absorbed into the secondary layers, and washing it off will not affect its effectiveness.
4. Another treatment would be anti-fungal powder or maybe some stoma powder, but you will have to tape down that part of the wafer with HyTape since the powder will keep the adhesive from sticking where powder is.

I've been using the Hollister two piece ostomy system for several
years now but over the past 6 weeks or so the skin under the bottom
corner of the flange is irritated. I use an Eakin Seal and then Adapt
paste around the hole but nothing under the corners. The skin is red
and sometimes itchy, but not usually until I take it off. It looks
icky, but the biggest problem is that the adhesive doesn't stick to
that corner for more than one day so I usually put some pink tape
across it to reinforce.
Any thoughts you all have on what could be going on, and how I can
resolve the problem are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dianna
