Jennifer,
Hello. My daughter, Lauren, is 4 years old and she had a bilat.cleft palate.
With feeding issue, you are right to play it safe and continue with the
non-chunky foods. Lauren has had some come out the nose and it has lead to many
sinus infections. We also faced the weight issues, trying to have her gain
weight for surgeries. We ate alot of high calorie yogurt (4 % milk fat) and
gave her pediasure (high calorie formula supplement). I wish you all the best
and I will keep you in our prayers.

hi all! my name is jennifer and my daughters name is lara. she was
born with prs and a dislocated hip. the drs believe she as campomelic
dysplasia, a form of dwarfism. she does very well with her
breathing. she is now 10 months old and the ent drs will not do her
cleft palate surgery until she is 18 lb.s. she is only 15.5 right
now. i need some advise on feeding her. i have been feeding her the
stage 2 baby food for a while now. everytime she sneezes, during a
feedind, it comes out her nose and she freaks out for a second. i am
afraid to try anything chunky for fear it will get stuck, and/or come
out her nose. she is not wanting to take her bottle much any more,
because she wants to eat more babyfood and drink her juice from a
sippy. if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it. thanks!
jennifer, lara's mom
