Hi, I've just been referred to a geneticist as possibly having
Sticklers (26, bilateral retinal detachments and myopia, high tone
hearing loss, congenital hip dislocation and continued joint pain
and some hyperextendability blah blah blah. Some familial indicators
as well). I was wondering whether anyone could let me know the
prognosis for retinal detachments for people with sticklers? I
discovered that I had multiple holes in the retina last year when my
left eye detached quite badly, had a buckle and still have my vision
in my left eye but it's wonky so I can't read properly out of the
eye. I had lazer on my right eye which was also slightly detached
but three lots of lazer haven't worked and I go for a buckle on my
right eye next week. I was wondering whether the prognosis is worse
for sticklers for any reason.
