Hello everyone!
My name is Andy , I am a 32 year old Microbiologist from Glasgow,
here in Scotland. I was surfing and found this page.I was interested
to read how others had coped with this condition.
When I was younger I used to feel really sorry for myself, and felt
that i was the only person in the world to be stuck with this
problem, my friends are all fine with it, and for that I am greatful.
It is those people who don't know me and just judge when they hear me
talk with whom I have a problem. My nature is such that I will talk
back to anyone if they are cheeky to me or make some smart/snide
comment and as such I have given quite a few people an earful (LOL).
I am very self confident, and my job involves giving talks and
chatting with fellow scientists from around Europe, so there can be
some scope for misunderstanding, but I find most people are fine.
When I was younger one guy at school called me simple and that
spurred me to go onto get better grades at school and then onto
University and then into industry (even now if I need something to
motivate me I think of that guy and that has the desired effect!)
