NEWS:------<br><br> April 3, 2001 - Air Canada Jetliner Lands After
"Haze" Fills Cabin<br><br> CALGARY, Alberta (Canada) -
An Air Canada jet with 121 passengers on board<br>
was forced to turn around and land shortly after it
took off from Calgary,<br> Alberta, on Monday when a
"haze" filled the cabin, medical officials said.<br><br>
Air Canada said it was unable to confirm that the
haze on the Airbus A320<br> aircraft bound for
Montreal was smoke, although Calgary Emergency Medical<br>
Service assessed 19 of the passengers who complained of
dizziness, nausea<br>and<br> tightness in their throats.
Three were transported to hospital
by<br>ambulance.<br><br> "The aircraft is being looked at by maintenance
(personnel) and the<br>incident<br> is under investigation.
That's all I can tell you right now," Air Canada<br>
spokeswoman Angela Mah said.<br><br> Two of the three
passengers transported to hospital were treated for<br>
difficulty breathing and released. A third remains under
medical<br>supervision.
