Replying to non-sensical sayings

Said to me ..."Well you are working with others, it kept you sober."

I said ..."That is not true for me, I work with others because I
find pleasure in it, my sobriety is a separate issue."

Said to me ..."My sponsor said ....blah, blah, blah."

I said ..."What do you think? How do you feel?"

On and on and on ...

Letter from me to my sponsee:

Dear .....

From sponsor to sponsee, woman to woman, these are the things I need
to say.

I hope you always keep yourself safe. I encourage you to continue
to find your path, and know that I am here for love and support. If
you slip it is okay, if you skip meetings it is okay, if you change
your mind it is okay. I will not set rules on working the steps. I
trust that you will tell me, over time what you need.

I believe in you.

PS Unable to resist my smart girl humor...if you tell me to take a
flying leap or tell me zip, (nothing),or find another sponsor...that
is okay too :)

This letter was written to a woman I sponsor who is seeing a
therapist, (severely traumatized childhood), and four months ago
left a sponsor who was emotionally abusive.
