Hello to any readers and hello to me, (lol).
My hope is with my daily postings to self-discover, participate in
my own healing, and my life, because I am about to take a new
direction.
The healing in part is physical, (degenerative discs, issues of the
spine, PT has helped, and daily walks on the beach), and
psycholgical issues that resulted from being involved in a 12 step
program, (first two letters of the alphabet). Actually several, I
say with humor, because I kept trying, in spite of what today I
consider best for me, which is minimal involvement. One or two
women's meetings, where I feel comfortable, and a WFS meeting.
I reflect and really applaud my tenacity. I have lived in five
states and have a history of attending meetings that have been
extremely diverse. I have been a GSR 3 times, Alternate DCM, and a
sponsor, (but much to my credit and the women I sponsor, none of us
has officially been through the steps)in the alphabet program. (I
did this in this in the wives program, aka alanon).
I was the bid chair last year for the IWC, (formerly IAAWC), in
hopes to bring this conference to San Diego.
I am a former business owner, and feel today my energies better
placed into starting another business, go figure, a healthy choice.
I saw a therapist for nearly a year ...working on issues of deep
shame and trauma and know I am not through processing. Mixed
meetings and some women's meetings increased my feelings of shame
and at this point in time I am very careful with whom I have contact.
I attended my first meeting, WFS, on Monday evening, and loved it.
Nine women, sharing safely and intimately, conversational style,
topic and non-topic. And I was called the next day to see if I had
any questions or comments.
I plan to attend the SOS conference, hopefully, start a meeting in
Encinitas, with the moderator from San Diego, (Women for Sobriety).
This is it for today's journal. Off to the beach, friends and study.
I purchased and am reading Rebecca Fransways book. The stories
reflect my experience.
