This forum is for adults (16+) who are, or who suspect they may be, at the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum (Asperger Syndrome -AS- , high-functioning autism -HFA-) or related conditions, and who live in the Solent area of England (loosely defined as being within 20 miles of the Solent coast).

Both formally diagnosed and self-diagnosed people are welcome here.

This forum is not open to families and carers of people with AS/HFA. If you are a family member or carer, you may wish to join our sister forum, Solent Asperger Families, which is open to people on the spectrum too.

Our basic philosophy is that we believe in improving the quality of life for people with AS/HFA, and that this is more important than to make us look "normal."

This forum was set up after it was recognized that there is a dearth of services locally for people with AS/HFA, and that these people often feel isolated. We are hoping that the forum will contribute to breaking the isolation.

The forum is for discussion of autism-related issues, sharing of experiences, and mutual support.
