Language Therapy Clinical Practice

The Northern Research SIG is pleased to present the fifth in a series
of workshops and seminars aimed at providing information and support
for speech and language therapists to use and contribute to the
evidence base of our profession.

Integrating Research and EBP into SLT clinical practice: where are we
now and where are we going?

This session aims to explore the current and future agendas for
research and EBP in SLT from a number of perspectives:

• RCSLT: Dr Jan Broomfield Councillor for Research and
Development, and Consultant SLT for Middlesbrough, Redcar and
Cleveland Community Services will outline the current Research Agenda
for SLT and plans for the future.

• NHS SLT Managers: Alison Proudfoot, North East SHA
representative on the RCSLT Management Board and SLT Professional
Lead/Manager, North Tyneside PCT will present a manager's perspective
of the vital contribution of research and evidence based practice in
relation to current NHS and educational policy and approaches
to "making it happen" in clinical practice

• Research SIG members: Explore with others, where you are now,
where you would like to be and what support you need to get there.

• How the research SIG can support you: Finally, take part in
planning the future of the Northern Research SIG over the coming 2
years. Set the agenda for the support you need to achieve your aims
for Research and EBP in clinical practice
