Tyne and Wear Autistic Society is a registered charity consisting of
an Independent Residential and Day School and Adult Services College
providing specialist education and residential provision for children
and young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Aspergers
Syndrome. The Society was established in 1980 and has built its
reputation on the quality of specialist provision both in education
and care.

Head of Therapy (Band 8)

·    Do you have proven managerial experience and a desire to develop it
further?

·    Do you have wide experience of ASD and SLD?

·    Would you like the opportunity to make a difference by combining your managerial and clinical skills in order to benefit the young people in our care?

A Principal SLT is required to lead a major development of the
Therapy Service within Tyne & Wear Autistic Society, who operate a
well established independent school which works in partnership with
the NAS and other Autism Specific Service Providers. This is an
exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated and
innovative and who is willing to work across both educational and
residential care settings.

The successful applicant will lead a "Therapy Department", which
currently comprises a small team of full time SLTs and a part time
Massage Therapist. The projected department however, will include
full time specialist Occupational Therapist provision and the
introduction of other therapies on a sessional basis.
