CLINICAL EDUCATOR/TUTOR: 12 month fixed term contract
SALARY: £29,139 - £32,796
Information for Candidates
The Speech and Language Sciences Section, Newcastle University, is
looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Speech and Language
Therapist to make a major contribution to the clinical activity
within the on-campus Aphasia Centre, to carry out teaching/tutoring
within the Speech & Language Sciences section and to assist with the
coordination of clinical placements. This work will support
undergraduate and postgraduate vocational programmes within the
section. The post holder will work as part of the exciting therapy
team providing clinical supervision to students in the Aphasia Centre
and contribute to the student clinical programme of tutoring and
assessment. Direct clinical responsibilities will include the
assessment and selection of clients to the campus clinics and during
University semester time, client management and student supervision.
Post-qualification clinical experience is required with the addition
of some experience in clinical supervision. The successful candidate
will have strong communication and organisational skills. The
position provides an excellent opportunity for a clinician to
continue to maintain clinical skills while working in an academic
context and developing teaching skills.
The post is full time, fixed term for one year only. We are very
happy to explore secondment arrangements with employers.
