2 years fixed term contract.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to deliver therapy programmes to children and young people in one to one and group situations in schools and nurseries within Community of Learning 3 (Derwentside area).

Community of Learning 3 has made funding for this exciting joint-initiative available. You will be supported by, and work in close liaison with, qualified Speech and Language Therapists and teaching staff from Community of Learning 3.

The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service is a pro-active and well-established department. A comprehensive joint-training programme will be provided by our department and staff within Community of Learning 3.

Relevant experience working as a Nursery Nurse or Learning Support Assistant is essential.

We are looking for candidates with good written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience delivering speech and language programmes to speech disordered children and/or young people is desirable. You will need to be able to relate to a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds and be committed to working in a multi-agency environment.
