AHP Network

This is the first AHP network created on a national basis, an idea suggested at the Chief Health Professions Officer's conference in 2006 where managers, in particular, expressed a desire for a mechanism to share information, knowledge and experience with each other to generate collaborative advantage.

This network will aim to harness the wealth and diversity of experience amongst the group, in a mutually supportive environment, to enable the formation of alliances working to improve outcomes for clients and families, by putting people in touch with other people who can help them achieve their objectives.

Ultimately the network will aim to help service managers and leaders evidence the added value AHPs offer.

Members need to:

·                              Be committed to the concept of service improvement.

·                              Be committed to sharing their learning with others to encourage creativity.

·                              Be able to provide evidence of impact and effectiveness showing the positive influence their work has on better outcomes for patient care.

·                              Fully participate; invest time in the network to become meaningfully involved.

The first tasks of the network will be to:

·                              Work to create shared values and agreed objectives linked to the understanding and implementation of national priorities.

·                              Focus on identifying the specific needs of AHP managers and leaders.

·                              Connect individuals so that local solutions can be informed by national debate and national learning.

·                              Create a culture of collaboration where new ideas can be explored and supported.

·                              Develop a consistent method to disseminate information translated to illustrate practical implications for AHPs.

·                              Celebrate success!
