Director of Clinical Education
Fixed term contract of 2 years (£38,772 - £42,367)
The School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences is seeking to
appoint an enthusiastic, experienced speech and language therapist to cover a
period of research leave for two years. The successful applicant will be
responsible for the ongoing development and review of clinical policies and
quality assurance of all placement learning on the two NHS funded courses in
speech and language therapy run within the School. As lead clinical liaison with
the NHS Strategic Health Authority, the post holder will be responsible for
maintenance of clinical liaison with the professional community. Development and
delivery of teaching is an integral part of the role, along with supervision and
client management in the campus clinics (child or adult). Registration with the
Health Professions Council is essential. Pastoral duties will also be involved.
At least 5 years clinical experience is required, as are strong communication
and organisational skills. A significant part of the job will involve
administration and evaluation of the clinical curriculum and liaison with the
broader clinical community.
