SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST – 2 posts

Salary: Band 2. Spine points 34-35 available depending on
experience. £21,135 - £33,829 (Subject to Agenda for Change)
Hours: Full time or part time considered
Duration: Permanent and / or 12 month secondment opportunities

Brain Injury rehabilitation?

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic therapists with at
least 3 years post qualification experience in the field of adult
neurology to join the highly valued Regional Neurological
Rehabilitation Team based at Hunters Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne.

What kind of work is on offer?

 Fast stream in-patient rehabilitation
 Slower stream in-patient rehabilitation
 Minimally Conscious State
 Out-patient rehabilitation
 Satellite private brain injury service in Peterlee, County
Durham
 Medico-legal assessments
 Key working and patient advocacy
 Teaching and presentations
 Mentoring a Trainee Specialist
 Supervising multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Assistants
 Clinical education of BSc and MSc students

You will join a committed and friendly multi-disciplinary team and an
ability to work as a key member of this team with a clear focus on
professional values and rehabilitation philosophy is essential. You
must show excellent communication skills and contribute to projects
that enhance service delivery and development.

We will encourage you to develop professional interests and skills
including post graduate training courses. We have an established CPD
policy and regular clinical supervision. There is a Lead SLT on site
at the Centre to provide support and a Professional Lead linking this
service with the Newcastle wider Adult SLT service. We also work
closely with Newcastle University.
