  • Do you want your job to be stimulating stretching, innovative creative?
  • Would you enjoy the challenge of working with either children, adults or both?
  • Looking for a team that will give you the support, training, development and the opportunities you need?
  • Will this be a new opportunity for you?
If the answer to these questions is YES, read on.

Working within Newcastle's Community Team for Learning Disabilities, you will help us achieve our aim of providing a high quality service to our clients and their carers. You will liaise closely with 10 other speech and language therapists and fellow professionals in community nursing, physiotherapy and clinical psychology to address communication, eating/drinking disorders as part of a holistic, client-centered service.

Based at a resource centre in Newcastle, you will have a varied caseload, with opportunities to work in special schools, day centres, client's homes, and a variety of other settings.

Working in this field will demand a lot of you, so you should already have experience in the needs of people with learning disabilities. The job often calls for practical solutions through innovative thinking and you will need to be eager to learn. You will find yourself in a team that's eager to support you, with regular supervision and mentoring.

Continuing professional development is not an option. It's essential.

In a role this challenging, you will work hard. But in a city as vibrant as Newcastle, you will probably play hard too.

To talk informally about this role, you can contact:
