Based in the School of Education, Communication & Language Sciences, you will work on a research study, funded by The Health Foundation, which investigates the effectiveness and acceptability of It Takes Two To Talk, the Hanen Program, for families of young children with physical disabilities.
You will be a highly motivated, well-organised SLT with a minimum of two years' experience of working with children with developmental disabilities.
The post will involve assessing children's communication development, working with therapists in the North East of England to deliver It Takes Two To Talk, and entering data from the project onto statistical software.
Training and support will be provided in all aspects of the work. The post will offer the chance to develop specialist skills in working with children with developmental disabilities and their families, the opportunity to consider different models of service delivery, and training in the evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions.
