Although the
official closing date has passed, RCSLT would still like to hear from anyone
who might be interested. There has
been no nomination for an England Councillor and there are still vacancies for
some of the Regional Committee members.

Subject: Opportunities for RCSLT members
CALLING
ALL RCSLT MEMBERS IN ENGLAND
We
are looking for members who wish to:
. contribute to
the work that College does on
behalf of members
. experience
first hand the workings of College
. develop their
leadership and communication skills
. influence
strategy and the future of the profession
. widen their
contacts with colleagues
. improve
communication between members,
councillors and College
. gain insight
into the issues facing the profession
BACKGROUND
There has been no councillor for England
now for nearly two years. Following
focus group consultations, RCSLT has
decided that the post needs more
support.
We plan to do this by establishing a
members' committee. This will mirror
the geographic representation of managers
on the management board and will
consist of eight members. Their role will
be to establish networks, probably
in the form of e-groups (supported by
other media where access to internet
is limited) with all sectors of the membership.
The members' committee will meet with the
councillor for England four times
a year (maximum), following Council, to
disseminate information to and seek
views from members and to find ways of
working to support
the strategic plan of College and its
Boards.
We
are therefore seeking nominations for:
A
COUNCILLOR FOR ENGLAND & EIGHT COMMITTEE MEMBERS from each of the
following geographic regions:
. Northern and
Yorkshire
. North west
(including Isle of Man)
. Trent
. West Midlands
. South east
. London
(including British forces posted overseas)
. Eastern
. South west
(including the Channel Islands)
If
you would to have an informal chat with Sue Roulstone, RCSLT Deputy
Chair, or one of the other Country
Councillors about this role, please do
give them a call on the following
