ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop will introduce participants to the process of evidence-based
practice (E.B.P.) in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (A.A.C.). E.B.P. has rapidly gained momentum as a
new paradigm for implementing clinical practice across health care fields. In A.A.C., E.B.P. is beginning to be
embraced as well. E.B.P. requires knowledge and skills in six key
steps. Participants will be
introduced to each of these steps using relevant scenarios.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of the workshop, each participant should have
developed an understanding related to the knowledge and skills associated with
the seven key steps of Evidence Based Practice:
†
†
developing a well-built question
†
†
selecting evidence sources
†
†
executing the search strategy
†
†
examining and synthesizing the evidence
†
†

†
