Specialist S.L.T. (Language Disorder)

You will work with language Resource Base Team colleagues offering services to one of our three resource bases in North Durham, which cover both primary and secondary aged pupils. You can choose which age group you prefer.

Post 1 - Early Years
Grade 2, Spine points 33-35, 10 hpw/0.3 wte

You will work with colleagues in the Mainstream Team to develop and redesign services to schools, in response to the Inclusion agenda. You will be free to develop in reach services including training packages.
Post 2 - Special Needs Inclusion
Grade 2, Spine points 33-35, 20 hpw/0.6 wte

You will work with colleagues in the Special Needs Team to develop and redesign services to support children with special needs in special and mainstream schools. You will take lead responsibility for children with a physical disability in mainstream schools. You will promote liaison between Special Needs and Mainstream Teams to best meet the needs of the child.

For both posts, you will work alongside your Sure Start colleagues to develop a responsive and equitable service across Sure Start programmes in Durham. Your responsibility will be the respective named programmes, sup ported at each by a full time Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.
- All posts are permanent, and are negotiable in hours and case mix to meet the needs of you and the service.
- All posts can be redesigned to training posts if you do not yet have the appropriate level of experience.
