URGENT:

Hey guys,

I'm helping a good friend of mine from Los Angeles locate dynamic speakers for an Alcoholics Anonymous conference there at the end of May.  Years sober are not as important as ability to share in front of over 1000 people in a calm, focused and engaging way.  Also, this potential speaker needs to have a recording of one of their shares on a CD copy to mail or MP3 to send via email.  The sooner the better.

So if you know anyone you think fits this bill, please have them contact me.  Because of the principal of anonymity in AA, I'd ask that you not publish their full name on any message boards.  It's totally appropriate to give them my contact info as I'll be sharing it directly with my friend in LA and all contact details will remain confidential.

The proposed SIN Cruise to Mexico that we had planned for May 2010 has been cancelled completely.  We have no plans to reschedule it.  If you wanted to go, I suggest you contact Paul Stalbaum who is organizing an HIV cruise on the same sailing in the 1st week of May 2010.  His website is:

www.hivcruise.com

Cruise participants from May 2009 cruise: If you were booked on the ill-fated SIN Cruise to Mexico this last May, first of all thank you for all your patience.  For information about transfering any remaining credits you have from Carnival, again contact Paul about having that apply to his May 2010 Mexico trip.  Sorry for any confusion or misunderstandings, particularly with those who were on the recent HIV cruise to the Caribbean.
Thank you,
Bryan

In order to devote as much time as possible to focus on some health issues faced by my family members and myself, I've decided to turn over daily management of Strength In Numbers' operations to our local SIN chapters.  Our chapter managers have been given almost total and complete indepedence to run their groups as they and their membership desired, even from when I started what has become this large social association 7 years ago.  Some SIN chapters have blossomed into incredibly active and essential community organizations, as just 2 examples are New York City (now probably the largest single poz social group in the world) and Colorado (that publishes one of the few HIV information resources in the region).   The incredible hard work and devotion shown by guys like David and Chris from NYC, Rod from Denver, Dave from LA, and many more, too many to name, has been the real strength behind the growth and positive impact of the SIN concept.

Over the last year because of the various reasons I mentioned above, my ability to be fully responsive and handle any difficult situations in a completely professional manner has been compromised.  Unfortunately, my conduct hasn't met the expectations of some of our participants and I've admitted dropped the ball in following up with public acknowledgments or appropriate explanations of my decisions in certain matters.  In particular, I want to apologize to the membership of SIN NYC for not giving greater thanks to the guys there (especially Mickael) who worked so hard to make my visit in June so special.  Additionally, I know there was some misunderstanding and hurt feelings about the HIV cruises which I hope have been resolved, to some extent, by the cancellation of our SIN Cruise (May 2010).

For our active local SIN chapters, I'll be working with the current managers to turn over full control of their groups to them, although overall their members will see no changes.  This just means no future emails from me, whether that's a blessing or a disappointment I'll let others decide.

Some of the SIN chapters haven't become active since we helped get them created, which happens from time to time especially since everything done for and with SIN (including all the work that I've ever done for the organization) is completely volunteer-based and unpaid.  We all do this out of a love for the community and with little to no resources.  We'll look for local members who want to step up to the plate to help moderate or manage these non-active SIN groups.  Ultimately, some of these groups might be merged into the SIN social site, SINMen, where I will continue to provide guidance.  Our goal is to make sure that guys are not isolated and still have some kind of way to connect with other poz guys on a free and easy to navigate website.

Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of our efforts to build an international association for HIV+ gay men.  I hope that the connections I and others have helped establish between local poz groups (whether they had the name of SIN or not) continues to grow and empower our larger community even more.  And thank you all in advance for respecting the privacy of me and my family by letting me devote my attentions there.

If you have questions, I'd ask that you address them directly to your local group manager.  The main SIN website might be having some alterations as well in the near future with the overall mission to continue to help poz guys find social support in their area as easily as possible.

Have a great holidays this year and may you and your loved ones be healthy and happy!

Statement by Secretary Kathleen G. Sebelius on the Repeal of the HIV Entry Ban

Today, we will publish a rule in the Federal Register announcing that the United States will drop HIV from the list of diseases barring visitors from entering this country, effective Jan. 1, 2010.
Though the United States has been a leader worldwide when it comes to ending the stigma of HIV/AIDS, we've been one of only 12 countries who, by their policies, still enable the myth that HIV/AIDS is a threat.  Lifting the HIV "entry ban" represents the same blow against stigma that Ryan White himself fought for from the time he was 13 years old and contracted HIV/AIDS.
It's appropriate that the nation is taking the final step to lift the entry ban as President Obama signs the fourth reauthorization of the Ryan White CARE Act.  The ability to travel freely and have access to affordable health care should be available to everyone.  This change has been a long time coming, and I am pleased it is happening now.

Important Notice

We are changing the dates for the SIN Cruise 2010 that was originally planned for May 2010.  We chose the 1st week of May 2010 since that is the same timing I had for the SIN Cruise that I organized this last May before it was diverted by the swine flu crisis.  The previous travel agent, Paul Stalbaum, that I used for that SIN Cruise also has planned his own poz cruise trip for the 1st week of May 2010 on the same ship.  Having two separate poz groups on the same sailing has caused confusion and conflict within some of the HIV community.

I assume responsibility for the misunderstanding, particularly any insult to or bad feelings within the community of poz cruisers that Paul has developed during his October HIV cruises.  Our goal was never to cause confusion or to disrupt Paul's efforts to establish his own West Coast cruise each Spring.  My sole intent was to plan a trip for poz guys just for the fun of it as I personally was not making any profit off the SIN Cruises.  My mission has always been to bring poz gay men together for their own empowerment and social networking to combat isolation and stigma that can be caused by HIV rather than cause ill will or gossip, and I have failed at that recently.  Over the summer I did have some personal concerns and didn't express them properly.

To heal this "rift", we are assessing if and when we will re-schedule the SIN Cruise for next year but it will certainly not be during the 1st week of May as booked by Paul's group.  We will provide you with any updates as soon as we have confirmed those.  For more information about the existing poz cruise being organized for May 2010 by Paul Stalbaum, visit his website at:  www.hivcruise.com

If you had made reservations for the SIN Cruise, please contact our travel agent, Jonathan Klein, at (800) 255-6951 or jk@...

Again, I apologize for any confusion or hurt feelings that my actions have caused.  I know that guys had a great time on the recent HIV cruise to the Caribbean and bringing together poz guys anytime we can should be our collectively focus.

Sincerely,
Bryan Levinson

Our social networking site keeps expanding with great poz guys just like you joining every day!  It's a fantastic place to meet other HIV+ gay men who want to find a serious relationship or looking for new friends.  You can also join "groups" for local areas to find out what's happening in your town or ask questions about HIV services near you.

There's also interest groups for guys who like to "do it" outdoors, develop a new artistic skill or are dealing with recovery issues.  Personal profile pages can be stylized to fit your own personality, and you can update photos and videos of yourself so that we all can get to know you better.

Think of it as a Facebook for poz guys, a MySpace for HIV, but without all the unnecessary invites or SPAM messages.  We moderate it closely to keep out SPAMmers and keep the focus on issues or needs of the HIV+ gay male community.  We've got guys joining from all across the United States and beyond to countries like Argentina, Columbia and the United Kingdom.  Finally, a site just for you, that's completely free!

OCTOBER 12, 2009

Report: Schwarzenegger signs Harvey Milk Day bill

May 22nd will now be known as Harvey Milk Day in California.  Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger last night apparently signed a second bill passed by the state legislature to recognize the slain San Francisco Supervisor.

The first attempt to establish the day of significance was vetoed by Schwarzenegger, who at the time said it was more appropriate to honor Milk locally where he had the most impact.  Since then the Oscar-winning movie “Milk,” a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom and his induction into the California Hall of Fame has elevated Harvey Milk’s status as a civil rights icon.

Milk became the fifth openly LGBT person elected to public office in the United States when he was elected to the city’s Board of Supervisors in 1977.  He was assassinated in his office in 1978 along with the city’s mayor, George Moscone.

Guys, we've been building up our new social networking website for poz guys over the summer, and now have over 1500 members signed up.  This has been all through word of mouth.  With your feedback, we've been polishing the site so that it's easy to use like Facebook while offering an effective way to meet other poz guys just like you.  Post personal photos of yourself, create Event listings for major HIV social events in your area, or join a Group for your own city or something that interests you.

But we could use your help in spreading the word about our free site, so please take a moment when possible to copy the banner ad text below and copy it to your personal profiles, Facebook page, HIV social groups, or send it to your gay poz buddies around the world:

Help get the word out about National Gay Men's HIV Testing & Awareness Day by joining their Facebook page or telling your buddies about it.  Today there was encouraging news about a somewhat successful vaccine against HIV, but a fully effective one might be years if not decades away.  But today, gay men are still the largest population becoming infected or who are already living with HIV in the industrialized world.  We can still do so much to help care for poz guys and reduce new infections!

Sorry for confusion in my wording.  The prices listed are for the room only, but taxes and fees totalling $229 must also be added to that price.  See our website for the total approximate costs.  Also know that prices can go up at anytime and will go up closer to the cruise probably.

So best to book now, pay our deposit now or even better just pay the entire cost so you are set.  Thanks for your patience.

SIN Cruise to Mexican Riviera
May 2 to May 9, 2010 (7 days/7 nights)

Updated information on our 1st cruise for poz gay men and their friends.  First of all, the entire goal of this trip is to help poz guys meet each other and have a blast in the tropical sun for as affordable a price as possible.  This is a fellowship retreat that focuses on active excursions like snorkeling or jet skiing followed by festive group dinners and singles mixers.  And of course quieter moods can be found lounging by the pool or taking a stroll with a special guy along the deck at night.

We've already set up a web group on SINMen.net specifically for guys who register and paid their deposit/full fare so you can see who is going and start contacting guys directly to help you select a roommate.  Or you can grab a friend or 2 or 8 to join you on the cruise, because it's always nice to have some buddies to give you courage when you ask out that studly guy in the speedo...  But in case you come by yourself, you'll have a dedicated group of SIN volunteers there to make sure you are never alone and always are part of the fun!

Our ship, the Carnival Splendor, is brand new, and I saw it last May here in SF so I know firsthand who beautiful it is.  Guys of all types are already signing up, from their early 20s to their 60s, and from all over the country and beyond.  There are also Friends of Dorothy and Friends of Bill W gatherings offered each day by the Carnival crew.

SIN focuses on serving the needs of the HIV community, without profit, and in this spirit we'll be offering a limited number of financial scholarships going to poz guys who demonstrate a commitment to volunteering in their area.  We at SIN understand that many in our membership are on fixed budgets or currently unemployed so our goal is to include more guys by keeping prices low but still providing an opportunity for poz guys from around the world to find fellowship with each other.  (If you are interested in such a scholarship, please do not email yet as we'll be getting details out later.)

So walk right over to your calendar now and mark for the 1st week of May:  "Poz guys gone wild!"

Please email me if you would be interested in joining a SIN Cruise to Mexico's West Coast (Puerto Vallarta, Matzalan, Cabo) leaving from Long Beach, probably in May 2010.  Earlier this year we had about 45 guys signed up for this same cruise but it was interrupted by the swine flu situation.  As with the last cruise trip, this will focused on HIV+ gay men and their family/friends, to help them mix, mingle and socialize for 7 days/nights of sun baked fun and frolic.  And yes, hopefully even some romancing...

The prices could range from under $450 (inside shared cabin) to $1200 (outside balcony shared cabin), and this year we will be working on scholarships based on financial need for those living on disability or who are currently unemployed (based on qualifications that will be determined later).  If there is enough guys who want to go, then we'll reserve our group booking and get you all info about it as soon as possible.

You can visit our website from the previous SIN Cruise at:  www.SINCruise.com

We will be working with a new travel team this time, having decided not to use again the services of Paul Stalbaum who organizes the annual HIV Cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale each October.  The SIN Cruise should not be confused in any way with any similar cruise that he or anyone else might be organizing for Spring 2010.  Nor does the SIN organization continue to promote cruises organized by Paul for a variety of reasons.

Hopefully we'll have info for you all soon.  The SIN Cruise will be unique for including a diverse active group of fun loving poz guys just like you, either relaxing by the pool in sexy swimsuits or exploring the jungles or port towns of Mexico or just dancing our asses off into the night.  If you come on this cruise, you will be supported all during the trip and will get lots of opportunities to make great new friends with other great poz guys.  Think of this as the best HIV retreat you could ever experience, with endless buffets or margaritas!

Have a great weekend!

We're working hard to make SINMen the 1 stop destination for HIV+ gay men with news, dating possibilities, and, best of all, local social events.  Now poz guys in your area can quickly learn about poz social events being organized by your poz social group.  Either join SINMen for free today and post (and maintain) events directly or feel free to email them to me with the information listed below.  Our goal is to direct our members to your organization, including any poz guy who is visiting your area for business or as a tourist and wants to participate with your event.

Event Information for Posting

Date and Time:
Location:
Address (including Street, City, State, Zip):
Contact Info (email or phone) for Your Group or the Event Organizer:

Please note that keep our focus on our target audience, only events that specifically relate to HIV+ gay men will be approved for posting.  This can include health related seminars or forums, retreats, etc.  General LBGT events will not be posted usually, but we'll work with anyone who submits an event about posting standards.  Also only 1 event posting for each event will be allowed, and we request that you not post any of your weekly reoccuring events, rather that you focus on special events.  For weekly events, send us that information and we can list that in the "Group" for that city/local area.

SINMen is a program of Strength In Numbers International, a global association for HIV+ gay men and their supporters.  Membership on SINMen is and will remain free, but is restricted only to poz gay men (to avoid SPAMmers on the site and provide guys more privacy in their dating activities).  We hope to add some advertising sponsorship over time to help us pay for promotional costs for the site to attract more membership.  SINMen currently has about 1500 members, which is fantastic given that we officially launched just 3 months ago and only with word of mouth advertising.

If you have any questions, contact me directly.  Our goal is to help your poz social group or local event gain more attention and get more attendance.  We're here to help you, so help us by sending us your info today and letting your membership or friends know about our site.

HPV (the virus that causes penile and anal warts and can lead to cancer in those areas) is very widespread among HIV+ gay men.  Apparently the FDA is considering expanding the vaccination against HPV that works in younger, unexposed adults to younger boys/men.  If the vaccine works effectively, it could reduce the percentage of gay men who acquire HPV in the future and thereby reduce deaths from the related cancer.  The vaccine does not work in individuals who have already been exposed to HPV.

Please read this important message about FDA hearings.  Also, make sure to get regular anal pap smears to detect anal cancer cells, particularly if you know that you had anal warts in the past.  And check for cancreous growths around the penis, as HPV can still be present no matter if you developed warts or not.

Stay in good health and get treated effectively and quickly.

To: SINSanFrancisco@yahoogroups.com, thriving@yahoogroups.com, Bryan

FDA is considering expanding the indication for Merck's Gardasil HPV vaccine to young boys in addtion to girls & young women.  The rationale for doing so will be that it can prevent death from penile & anal cancers, as well as morbidity from venereal warts, and that immunizing boys will also protect their partners (female and male) and further reduce the burden of HPV disease in the general population (aka "herd immunity").  While it may be too late for adults like us to avoid HPV infection, this could save future generations from needless suffering from cancers & veneral warts.

The FDA is expected to approve this indication for boys, and that approval will be followed by hearings at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta for recommendations for the government to pay for this vaccine for those covered by govt funded health programs.  These hearings will take place Oct 21 & 22.  There is a public comment section for people to testify as to the importance of these vaccine, and as an anal cancer survivor I plan to attend.  At a similar hearing regarding recommendations for the same vaccine when the indication was expanded to young women instead of just girls, the public testimony and comments received helped convince the committee to recommend coverage of Gardasil for that use.

Therefore I am trying to get as many men as possible who've experienced, or lost partners to, anal or penile cancers to consider testifying as to the importance of this vaccine for boys & men.  Individuals desiring to send in public comments may do so at this email address: acip@....

Please forward this to friends & colleagues whom you think might be interested in assisting in this effort.  If you are able to attend the hearing on Oct 21, please contact me directly at this e-mail address.  More information on the vaccine and the CDC hearing process can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/acip/meetings.htm#register

Thank you.

Hey Guys,
There are still some spots left for the SIN mountain weekend at Shadowcliff Lodge in Grand Lake, Colorado.  If you want to do this, now is the time to sign up.
We head up there on Thursday September 10th and come back on Sunday the 13th.
You can fly to Denver on Thursday morning (or Wednesday afternoon/evening) and still make it to the lodge.  We are organizing a carpool if you don't want to rent a car.  Grand Lake is a 2-hour drive from Denver.
Cost for the weekend (rooms and meals) is $149.
Much more detailed information (and the link to sign up) is available at:

Subject: HIV Stigma
From: Tony Valenzuela <tonyvalenzuela@...>
Date: Mon, August 03, 2009 10:01 am

Dear Bryan,

Thanks for posting this for me.  This is what I want to ask the guys at SIN:

HIV stigma is something most HIV positive people have to deal with in their lives, even in big cities.  It can take the form of language in online profiles (UB2, "dd free" (drug disease free), "clean"); it can appear in HIV prevention ads (like the recent campaigns that showed HIV positive men in diapers, with a bloated belly or facial wasting to scare neg men into safer sex); or it can take the form of the way people treat you once they know you're positive (they pity you, treat you like a "victim," wont' date you, etc.)

My question is not about what forms of HIV stigma you experience but, instead, how you combat HIV stigma in your own lives?  For example, maybe you refuse to play the victim.  Maybe you call people out on their ignorance when appropriate.  Maybe you're out about your HIV status and are always matter of fact about it.  Maybe you have a sense of humor about your HIV status.  Maybe you embrace your sexuality, even as HIV positive.  These are all ways that we might combat HIV stigma.

What are ways you combat HIV stigma in your own life?

I will be talking about anti-HIV stigma strategies at a conference in Chicago on August 15th.  Your thoughts before then would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Sex Positive documents the life of Richard Berkowitz, a gay hustler-turned-AIDS
activist. While other 1980s AIDS activists pushed for medical research and
government support, Berkowitz sent shock waves through the New York gay
community with his claim that the promiscuous gay lifestyle was to blame and
that gay men had to take personal responsibility for their actions. Despite
numerous public appearances and the publication of a groundbreaking book on safe
sex, his stance was considered too controversial, leading the community to
dismiss him as a self-hating gay man. Nearly 30 years later, director Daryl Wein
uses archival footage (much of it from Berkowitz's own collection) and
interviews to capture the untold story of the history of safe sex.

Dear Sir,

I am contacting you in your capacity as the owner of the Strength in Numbers Los Angeles group. I am currently undertaking research as part of an MSc degree within the Institute of Work, Health & Organisations (I-WHO), which is a postgraduate institute of applied psychology at the University of Nottingham, UK.

The overall purpose of the project is to investigate how the use of online support groups affects users’ feelings about themselves and their illness, and how this impacts on the doctor/patient relationship. More specifically it is concerned with if and how users become empowered, whether users feel comfortable using online information in consultations with healthcare professionals and whether using a support group has had any effect on the doctor - patient relationship.

I have designed a questionnaire to investigate this based on previous research findings in this area. I am contacting you to ask if you would be willing to post a link to the questionnaire on he forum for users to complete?

The link is:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=IRVMEmNUS4rAoUN_2b6QxcXg_3d_3d

It is mainly tick boxes with a few longer answer questions and it should take around 15 minutes to complete.

Participation in any stage of this research is completely voluntary for both moderators and users. All sites that post the link will be acknowledged in any publications and reports written. This study has received ethical approval from the I-WHO Ethics Committee.

If you have any questions regarding this research please either reply to this email or my address is lwxykb@....

Many thanks,

Kiera Bartlett

Guys, my good friend Ivana Poker (aka Marcos Bellet) is preparing to compete in one of the most famous and important HIV services fundraisers in the country in October.  The annual Best In Drag Show contest in Los Angeles helps fund the local ASO called AID for AIDS, which gives immediate payments for critical bills like rent or phone for HIV+ people living in LA County.

As many of you know, California and Los Angeles are in the midst of the worst economic strain since the Great Depression and HIV funding has already been cut dramatically putting lives at risk.  The Best In Drag Show raised $300,000 in just one night with the help of famous judges like Kathy Griffin, Marcia Cross, Martin Sheen and his son Charlie.  But to get ready for the contest, each contestant is expected to raise their own funds to pay for their costumes and props so that those thousands of dollars are not taken from the money actually donated in the end.  Ivana (Marcos) needs help in raising that money in order to help put on the best show possible and thereby help raise the most money possible by inspiring the crowd who donates directly at the theater that night.

Please take a moment to write out a check for whatever amount you can (even very small donations will help a lot) and mail them directly to Marcos.  Know that I personally vouch for Marcos and the Best In Drag Show contest which is one of the best fundraisers in the nation, and AID for AIDS has one of the lost overhead rates for any agency in the nation as well.

Thank you guys!  Your donations to Ivana will directly improve the lives of thousands of HIV+ people in need.

So, as many of you know, Marcos is going to appearing as "Ivana Poker" in the 2009 Best In Drag Show on Sunday, October 18. BIDS is a fundraiser for Aid for AIDS, a non-profit organization that helps to prevent homelessness and hunger and improves the quality of life and independent living for those living with HIV/AIDS (for more information about Aid for AIDS, please see below). Marcos and his small band of helpers will work tirelessly over the next three months to create an entertaining, fun and truly original character, Ivana Poker, Miss Nevada, who is a show girl from Sparks. However, Ivana has squandered all of her belongings in a weekend-long craps game and now needs your help.

In order to compete in BIDS, Ivana is required to appear in four costumes: the opening act, swim suit, talent and evening gown. Being that she gambled away everything she owns (including her hair and her little bunny that she uses in her magic act, Hoppy), we are turning to you for your assistance to help raise funds for costumes, wigs, props, bunny food and set designs. As Miss Poker's financial consultant, I have been charged with raising the estimated $5,000 needed to procure said items. As friends of Marcos, we hope that you can help us make Ivana Poker's pursuit for the tiara a reality and make a donation so that Marcos can put on the best show he can for this high-grossing fundraiser for Aid for AIDS.

If you can make a donation, please send a check payable to "Marcos Bellet" to:

711 Westmount Drive #205
West Hollywood, CA 90069

Please note that all donations will be used by Marcos solely for purposes of creating that fabulousness that is Ivana Poker and will not be donated to Aid for AIDS. Therefore, we cannot ensure that your donations will be tax deductible. However, Ivana has promised each donor a private show reminiscent of Elizabeth Berkley's pool scene in Showgirls. Any donations received in excess of those funds needed for costumes, wigs, props and set designs will be donated to Aid for AIDS.

Thank you so much in advance for your support. And we hope to see you at the Best In Drag Show on October 18.

The Agency

Founded more than 25 years ago by a small group of friends, Aid For AIDS (AFA), a resilient non-profit, has grown into the premier service provider of financial assistance and other support  to persons living below the poverty line and disabled with HIV/AIDS in Los AngelesCounty.

AFA helps eligible individuals and families pay for the necessities of life: housing, utilities, transportation, nutritional supplements, medications not covered by insurance, and for those unable to transport items, the home delivery of fresh food.  Assistance is intended as limited help, supplementing existing income or providing short-term emergency financial assistance pending receipt of other support, such as government benefits.  Many dependent children currently live in AFA-assisted households, and over 60% of clients are persons of color. A consistent focus on careful management and integrity of purpose has enabled AFA to apply 90% of revenue to fund client programs. Since it's founding in 1983, AFA has touched the lives of more than 18,000 men, women, and children.

Staying ahead of today's dramatic challenges for non-profits and continuing a history of effective fiscal management, Aid For AIDS completed a merger in February of 2009 with The Serra Project.  Serra has served the region for more than two decades by offering supportive services and housing to HIV/AIDS-impacted individuals and families. Their programs include group homes licensed as Residential Care Facilities for the Chronically Ill for those needing a high level of care, as well as rental units for permanent/supportive housing for those with mental health challenges or chemical dependency who are able to live outside of a group setting. The merged organization provides a broader continuum of care for those living with HIV/AIDS in Los AngelesCounty.

The first weekend has 2 full days of rafting and costs $120.  The other 2 weekends have only 1 full day of rafting and cost $60.  There can be financial aid available as well.

If you sent through your applications, please wait for me to contact you later tonight or let me know in a few days if I don't get back to you.  Unfortunately I had my iPhone stolen from me last week and haven't been able to respond to everyone's voicemails.  If you left a voicemail recently, please email instead so I can respond faster.  But I do have my old cell phone working again.  Thanks for your patience.

Hello there group

My name is Kim, I'm a 38 year old poz gay guy and I've just moved back to Vancouver from living in LA for the past couple of years and am trying to get involved in some active 'outdoors' and social groups in the poz community

I noticed that a Pos Peds groups had an activity last sunday that I missed - does anyone on this list have any contact for this group or know more about it - a bike group sounds like something i'd enjoy. Any information would be appreciated.

Also - I would be interested in any poz hiking groups. I did a bunch of hiking in LA and would love to keep that up. I find that a great way to meet people and be active at the same time - usually following the hike up with a brunch is a good end to a hike. anyway - I'd love to hear of any similar group or people interested in organizing that with me. I noticed an activity with the 'Suits' but i'd like to do something on a more regular basis

cheers
Kim
