On May 30th, the long awaited "Sex & The City" movie comes out on US screens.  Some guys in SIN chapters here in the US and in other countries have asked for good ideas on group outings.  I thought that this movie offered up a great chance for guys to plan a group event around a showing of "Sex & the City" in their own city. 

 

How would your group do that?  You can ask your chapter manager to help organize it, if they are not doing so already.  Or you can just take the ball and run with it by organizing a movie outing yourself.  (Well, in this case it would be grabbing a Manolo and strutting with it!) 

 

Go to the Poll section of your Yahoo Group and create a new poll asking guys what day/time they'd want to the movie after it opens in your city.  Offer several times on different days (weekends tend to work best for most guys' schedules).  Choose the option that anyone answering the poll will have their ID listed next to their selection so you can later contact them about details for attending the movie.  And also ask guys to email/call you directly if they are interested.  It might be a good idea for guys to meet up as a group before the movie screening that you have collectively choosen, with a nearby coffee shop always a good idea like a Starbucks.  Or you can plan to grab dinner after the show to talk about how Miranda is really a lesbian or which "Sex" character you really personalify!  (I qualify as all of them, but I'm totally searching for my own Mr. Big...)

 

For guys outside US, check your local listings for release of the movie in your country.  For guys in my SIN SF chapter, we'll probably be seeing it together on the afternoon of Saturday, May 31st, depending on when the orientation for the AIDS Life/Cycle will be wrapping up.  Guys from Los Angeles (and elsewhere who are in town for the Ride) are welcome to join us, so just email me for details!
