A lot of exciting things are going on in our preparations for the Brotherhood Retreat in October this year. I just got back from London where I spent time with our co-facilitator, Alfred Hurst, and worked out more details on our plans. I feel that this will be an extraordinary and empowering event for everyone who attends and so far we have people coming from all over the US, Canada and Europe who have signed up. We still need more to cover our minimum commitment to the retreat center, though, so if you are thinking about this, don't hesitate to send in your registration.
The website has been updated to make it easier to pay your deposit or make a donation via paypal online. We also have printed up some postcards to inform people of the retreat. If you are willing to place some at HIV-clinics, gay gathering places or other relevant locations in your community to help get the word out, please shoot us an email. This is all about creating a grass-roots movement and your participation is strongly encouraged.
We have received a donation earmarked for a young person who recently found out that they are poz to attend the retreat at a substantial discount. If you want to apply for this scholarship, please email us as soon as possible.
We have also extended the early registration discount period until May 15 and simplified the fee structure for later registrations. Check the website, www.pozretreat.com, for details on that.
I will be doing some presentations and answering questions in person at a couple of events in the coming weeks. First off, I will be presenting at Being Alive in West Hollywood, CA this Tuesday, April 22 at 7PM. The second presentation will be in San Francisco. Exact date to be decided, but most likely it will be on Saturday, May 3.
