"Join us for Positive Being's annual "Exploring the Body Positive" weekend workshop at Wildwood, a beautiful mountaintop retreat near the Russian River. The workshop begins at 6 pm Friday and runs through 3 pm Sunday, April 10-12, 2009. The cost is $295 and includes room and board as well as the workshop. Ask about our scholarship program for the financially challenged.
Positive Being (www.positivebeing.org) is an ASO dedicated to improving the quality of life for those with HIV/AIDS through healing touch. This workshop will bring men with HIV together in community to reclaim our bodies as a site of pleasure and a source of healing strength. Together we will work to improve body our body image by sharing and moving beyond the losses due to HIV. To ground us and keep us in our bodies, each day we will also share touch, so that we may discover how opening our hearts and bodies to each other can create a sense of well-being and delight.
Wildwood, long a healing place for men with HIV, sits atop a mountain studded with redwoods. There are breathtaking views and trails. There's also a pool and a large hot tub. Each room (double occupancy) has a private bath. Transportation can be arranged if needed. Please consider joining us and tell your friends!
