CORRECTION: Update on Carl Frazier - murdered SIN Denver member   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #117 of 213 |
Dear friends,

Over the summer one of our SIN members, Carl Frazier, was shot dead in cold blood during an apparent robbery in Denver.  Carl had been an active member of various HIV social support groups in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Denver.  He was an incredibly intelligent, sweet and handsome youthful man without a violent bone in his body.  His sister Kathy has been kind enough to keep us updated on the murder investigation, to which there are few leads.  Any support we can provide to the Andersons as a worldwide organization is incredibly important.

We will not forget you Carl and we certainly will not rest until your killer is behind bars.

In my rush to get my email out, I miswrote Carl's last name, which is correctly Frazier.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get an update out to you. It took me a
while to get back into the swing again at work and to try to get caught
up on everything. Carl's 42nd birthday has past and we still don't have
any more answers than we did when we found out he was dead. I did want
to let you know what I know about the investigation.

The good news is that the detectives have not given up working on Carl's
case. The bad news/sad news is that every lead they get has taken them
to a dead end or has created more unanswered questions. Because it's an
ongoing investigation, the detectives have really stopped sharing
anything that is still remotely a lead while they try to run it down.
They know how frustrated we are and share our pain because they want to
find justice for Carl, too. The sad reality is that it's looking more
and more like they may not find the person responsible for this....at
least not now. They recovered the bullets that killed Carl but won't
tell me anything about them because of the investigation. There's
always hope that the weapon will be used again sometime which could lead
them to more information on Carl's murder. The district attorney's
office won't even release any of Carl's things that they took into
evidence until they've tracked down every last lead for fear of losing
something that may provide them information.

I'm heading out to Denver on Friday, November 14th to do two television
interviews with the lead detective on Carl's case -- one is a follow up
for CrimeStoppers and one is for a Denver area unsolved crimes show.
I'm also supposed to talk with the newspapers again for a follow-up
story. We want to do whatever we can to keep Carl's name and face out
there in the Denver-area community hoping it will cause someone to
eventually come forward with information. Carl's friends have continued
to put posters up about Carl's murder every week around town hoping
someone will call in.

That's all I have for now. Please know that as soon as I know anything
new, I promise to share it. There just haven't been any developments
unfortunately. Maybe I'll find out more when I meet with the detectives
in person this week.

Take care,
Kathy
