Hi Wolf:
For a hydrogen sulfide problem, I would recommend using an venturi
injector and using O3 rather than h2o2....

Using a touch of silver after processing is a nice idea with a chlorine
injector... Personally, for universal applications, I would regulate the
silver to .5 to 1 PPM.
For the water softener, I would switch from sodium pellets to potassium
pellets.

I'm not a big fan of water softeners, however.
You'd want to first run the water through your RO system, then hook the
ozone generator with the venturi injector inline, and then hook up your
chlorine injector.
You could even hook up two chlorine injectors, and experiment with
adding your own choice minerals back into the water to slightly soften it.
The system used by the City of Pascagoula:
"Manufactured by Osmonics, a pioneering company in the application of
membrane and ozone technology to municipal drinking water treatment, the
RO system greatly improved water quality by reducing salts, color, and
disinfection by-products, which will meet the tighter EPA regulations
taking effect in 2001. The new system reduced chlorine requirements by
87%. Ozone treatment following the RO process polishes the water further
by removing trace color and organics and also by removing hydrogen
sulfide, which is largely responsible for the odor in water. Water
samples taken before and after the filtration system installation showed
sodium, chloride, and total dissolved solids levels reduced by 90%.
Color and disinfection by-products were reduced by 95%."
However, if you have arsenic or toxic compounds in the water, then ozone
should be done before and after RO.... OR you can add a carbon or
similiar type of filter after ozonation.
Kind Regards,
Jason
